"Great cafe with views over the harbour. Very dog friendly, ours loved his chicken! Staff extremely friendly and attentive. The cafe has a good ambience, with a mixture of traditional tables and lounge style seating. Have not tried the food but what we saw looked very good. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again next time we are in the area."

"We had two cheese cream teas and a traditional cream tea. This was well worth the money. The scones were slightly warm and mouth watering and the massive slab of cheese on the cheese tea topped it off. I think this is the only place...that accommodates for anyone who doesn’t drink tea. Me and my dad had a luscombe drink rather than the traditional tea beverage. I can’t recommend this place enough. Service was very fast and it’s located right in the centre of cockington."

"Gorgeous tasty food, creative menu, mixture of traditional Spanish and world flavours, friendly staff, nice ambience. We booked in on strength of trip advisor reviews and so glad we did. Food was delicious. I like to order food that’s different or better than I could cook myself and this delivered. We had Asian beef skewers which were generous portions and super tender, slow cooked easily enough to share. Also pork belly bites with cracking crumble excellent and a big portion too. Brixham scallops and Spanish black pud was my favourite dish, smaller, but left me wanting more! Smoky Spanish corn cobs were our healthy option never had corn like it before and very tasty! Rather greedily we ordered a side of patatas bravas as an old favourite and the homemade aioli was just the best ever!! Probably should have had 1 less meat dish for 2 to share but it was all just so good. The egg box surprise was a lovely dessert experience we shared it as a mouthful of a sweet tasty dish to finish and I wouldn’t be able to make the egg shells myself. We had just driven 200 miles down to Torquay for the weekend but SWT is that good, I would drive that far again just for dinner here!"

"We went for breakfast. 2 x biscotti pancakes, GF Breakfast Hash and smashed avocado on toast. Amazing food quality and the coffees were excellent as well. The team worked from a very small Kitchen and coffee area to cook the food fresh. All the pancakes were cooked to order and the other meals were all prepared and cooked fresh to order. Amazing food and great atmosphere. You will not be disappointed, if you are in Brixham visit here for Breakfast or Brunch. Highly recommended"

"It was with a mixture of delight and trepidation that I greeted the news that The Chart Room First Class Coffee Lounge was reopening with new staff. However, I am happy to report that any trepidation I felt was quickly diminished. I tried the scrambled...egg and smoked salmon bagel on the day of opening and was pleased with the excellent quality and presentation of the food. The ambience had not diminished and it was a pleasure to sit surrounded by the fascinating collection of marine memorabilia listening to songs from the 40's and 50's. The initial menu was small but had been well thought out and there was something to appeal to every palate. The service was friendly and efficient and not obtrusive. Since that initial visit, I have returned several times and it has become an excellent venue to meet with friends. I can report further that other items on the menu are of equal quality and presentation to my first foray. I have tried the cream tea with excellent quality scones (nothing shop bought here) and some of the range of sandwiches. My lunching friends have also reported similar enjoyment of their choices of food. The menu has substantially increased since opening and now there are options for all palates that could tempt even the most picky eater. Also there is a new range of afternoon teas available and I am looking forward to sampling the delights on offer. I am a local and was very upset at the forced closure of one of my favourite haunts, however I am extremely happy with the reopening (even though my waistline may not be). Welcome back Bob and the Chart Room staff and long may you continue."

"I recently discovered Maido, a restaurant that has surpassed Wagamamas in my opinion. As someone who has traveled to Asia many times and loves oriental food, Maido caught my attention while I was visiting my fishing tackle store. The owner, a lovely lady, came into the store and gave me a delicious meal to take away, which prompted me to visit the restaurant to try more of their dishes. The food at Maido is even better than what I expected, and the restaurant has a homely and fresh atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally polite and helpful. They offer a variety of traditional Asian dishes as well as some homely Japanese dishes found in small restaurants in Osaka. Thank you for adding some much-needed spice to Torquay. You guys are the best!"

"Such a shame, nice restaurant, friendly waiting staff. When we arrived we got told a 30 minute wait for food, as there were a lot of tables that had ordered at once, which we thought okay we can wait that long, so we went a head ordered drinks and just main courses, as we didn’t want any starters. 30 minutes later our food hadn’t arrived so we thought wait a bit longer? But then we noticed that all the other tables got their starters, then no tables had no food, then all the main courses for all the tables arrived. 40 minutes later we still had no food the table next to us got fed up and left as they had been waiting a long time, still no main course. Then the waitress told us that our food would be coming out next and took the drinks off our bill for compensation. Finally 60 minutes we got our main courses! Which actually tasted alright. We didn’t realise it was a banqueting style restaurant maybe customers should be informed of this? I don’t normally right reviews on here but I wouldn’t want other customers/ holiday makers to be having to wait 60 minutes for 2 main courses in approximately 24 cover restaurant?"

"Great cocktails! We stopped in for a few drinks in the evening and it was a lovely experience. Nice and bright room with a lovely view, music playing just loud enough to be enjoyable without being unable to talk, and the staff were attentive and helpful. Also, the cocktails were amazing! I had the El Diablo and the Lemon Meringue Martini and they were very strong and tasty- perfect cocktail in my book!"

"overall a good experience, eating in was a little strange, as there was no environment music and it was quite easy to listen to other guests, phone calls and the personal discussed a failed delivery. the usual generic plinky plonky music would have been more relaxed. the food was nice, although the appetizers feel somewhat overpriced in comparison to the main, the garnish with the appetizers could be exchanged for a dressed minisalat without a big wall. price was generally appropriate"

"Fantastic meal out at The Cow Shed during our short visit to Brixham. Our mains were incredible (vegetarian fajitas and Yankee burger), so much flavour and very generous portions. "Great place for some fabulous food. Fun, lively restaurant with superb food. We had a starter and a main, and I must say the Garlic Prawns were amazing and the Linguine was out of this world. Not only in taste, but also in portion sizes. We will definitely go back again, not just for the food, but also the service. We had Jose as our waiter, and he was one of the most knowledgable, friendly, welcoming waiter I have had in a long long time, maybe even ever. As I say, food was awesome, but it is down to his service that we will go back. Well done Amici, great experience, 5 star."

"I was extremely disappointed tonight when my husband had made a reservation for our anniversary celebration, but upon arriving at the restaurant, we were told there were no tables available due to a large number of walk-ins. The waitress appeared shocked as we waited near the entrance, and we ultimately decided to leave as it was very embarrassing in front of the other diners. It felt like we were somehow in the wrong for expecting to be seated despite having a reservation. Thank you for ruining our evening. Service: 1/5."

"Visited Liberty today with my wife for the first time. Was immediately impressed by the beautiful and classy decor and sat in the 'Naughty Corner '! Was served by the super friendly and helpful Maxine who made us feel at home. You must try the teacakes with your coffee! Such as smart establishment and we are hooked so will be regular visitors on our frequent trips to Brixham. Finally, you must check out the amazingly smart and highly stylish toilets the kind you might expect is a 5* hotel!"

"First night away with partner and first evening meal out of hotel. Staff at Salt Pepper are very friendly and very attentive to your needs (brown sauce for the missus was a plus ! Cannot fault the the quality of food…for starters I had...the salt and pepper prawns which were mouth watering delicious. My partner had the green lipped mussels…well I persuaded my partner to part with one. They were outstanding and were the biggest and tastiest mussels I have ever clapped my eyes on..staff advised they were locally sourced…I would highly recommend. For mains we both had the ribeye steaks (medium well done) and were not disappointed, the steaks were tasty and very tender and well worth the price. I have had many steaks in many restaurants and often find they don’t live up to their pricing but at S&P our compliments go to the the chefs and the staff. Overall a great food and eating experience, the backing music consisting largely of classic 80s soundtracks which was a bonus and gave a real relaxing vibe to the evening….we will be back before the trip is over!!! Thank you S&P for a great dining experience!"

"I had a 1:00 pm pre-paid reservation for Christmas day lunch at The Railway Inn. The first course was served at 1:10, but then there was a long wait for our turkey. Despite speaking to multiple waiters and the bar lady over the next hour and a half, we didn't receive our turkey until 3:00 pm. By then, everyone else had finished their meals and some were leaving. We were offered complimentary drinks for the delay, but the waiter forgot to bring them until I reminded him. We also never received the last two courses we had paid for - mince pies and homemade fudge. I sent an email to complain, but received no response. I followed up with another email, but still no reply or apology. This experience has left me with no intention of returning next Christmas or any other time. It's a strange way to treat customers."

"visited the new Exeter location tonight and to be honest, I was a bit sceptical, exeter already has a full of Burger sites so they have to do something really special to lift out. they really haven't disappointed! the wings were beautiful, spicy and tasty and the burger I had was incredible, I had the angry bullen and it was just the right amount of spicy, juicy and very tasty in the did! the pommes were delicious and well cooked and the milkshake (oro) was incredible. really impressed, great ambiente, friendly staff and the rest of my group were equally impressed. in any case worth the visit, we'll be back."

"My girlfriend and I ordered our food just 20 minutes before the restaurant was closing. A displeased female bartender informed us that we would have to have our starter with our main course, as the kitchen was closing soon. Despite her lack of enthusiasm, we received our combined starter of salt and pepper chicken wings, which were delicious. Our mains of pie, chips, and peas were also tasty, but it was a strange combination to eat together. The food was great, but the service was cold and unfriendly. This may be why the pub was so empty on a Saturday evening compared to other pubs we visited that night."

"Overall lovely place! I have a dairy intolerance and the waitress was very helpful letting me know what would be suitable for me to have. I was originally going to have the chicken but sadly they marinate all the chicken in yoghurt so that was off the list, I didn 't fancy a burger without cheese and there wasn 't an alternative for me. There was a vegan burger on the menu but from what I could see that was it. I had the steak and ribs which were lovely, large portions. Partner had a burger which was huge! Reasonable priced, steak and ribs were £27 I believe but you can tell its good quality. The decor is great, lots to look at. Would recommend for people to visit here."
