"Restaurant chosen by chance with the family. We were looking for a restaurant so as not to eat at home and they still had a table available. We said to ourselves: “pizzas will do it for our two daughters”. And it didn't happen as we imagined. We enter, a young woman welcomes us friendly, we have the small table at the back. It's crowded, I told myself we're going to wait ages. We chose two pizzas, two lasagnas, mushrooms with garlic butter, half a bottle of wine and sodas for the little ones. First good surprise, we were served quickly. Second good surprise, everything is cooked over a wood fire, the mushrooms are delicious, the thin crust pizzas are among the best we have eaten, the girls enjoyed the lasagna, the wine was good and served at the perfect temperature. Third good surprise, people at the counter bring out two guitars, an impromptu concert. We linger a little, we applaud the artists, we order desserts. The desserts were also good, we finished with coffee and a digestive, a small pear (to be consumed in moderation). This restaurant reminded me of the atmospheres in some restaurants from the 90s. Simple cuisine of excellent quality, in the pure tradition of regular restaurants, no fuss. The devil is in the details and by observing carefully we know that everything is perfect, that we are in the right place to have a good time. It's refined, delicate without being pretentious. The welcome and politeness of the people in the room is admirable. They made sure the girls didn't get burned on the lasagna dishes. A small detail that makes the difference. We will come back with pleasure Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"We came to eat pasta with crustaceans, posted on the menu. At 13hours, the dishes with the gambas or shrimp were no longer available, yet Valbonne is a step from the sea, we are not at the top of Savoie or Lille here). The amongggiana, which we ordered in replacement, was too salty and too acid (which happens when we use the cans), the grated parmesan was also industrial (croute, bamboo and potatoes), without any taste. Anyway: If you want to eat authentic cuisine, we don't stop at the Latin Café door, you might be disappointed... The prices are students view the quality and the service is very slow (20 min to bring us the addition in an almost empty restaurant). We came to eat pasta with shellfish, displayed on the menu. At 1pm, the dishes with prawns or shrimps were no longer available, however, Valbonne is just a step away from the sea, we are not in Haute Savoie nor in Lille here). The parmiggiana, which we ordered as a replacement, was too salty and too acidic (which happens when you use canned food), the grated parmesan was also industrial (made of crust, bamboo and potatoes), without any taste. In short: If you want to eat an authentic cuisine, don't stop in front of the door of Café Latin, you could be disappointed... The prices are high for the quality and the service is very slow (20 min to bring us the bill in an almost empty restaurant)."

"We come here to eat as the default choice to eat whenever we arrive in Valbonne.Right in the square, it is always busy with lots of conversation, children playing and busy waiting-on staff to hand.If you like people watching, this is the place for you. A variety of locals, old and young, mixed with the tourists makes for lively, entertaining and fun experiences. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating outside, and although you might have to wait for a table, we haven't had too long a wait (10 mins tops).Mix of food, pizza, steak, salad, pasta - all good. We haven't had a bad meal here ever (have been on/off for last 4 years).Staff all very friendly, and although service is at a pace, it works well.If you want a quiet, romantic meal with a calm environment and subtle music - go somewhere else (but not a criticism). To be fair, we have only ever eaten here at the height of summer, so probably at its busiest, but the setting is more for fun evenings with friends, enjoying the atmosphere of a busy town square.Given all that, we have never been rushed to eat, pay or leave, you can stay to drink afterwards, and soak up the fun. This is a good place to eat when you want somewhere easy to find, plenty of space, reasonable food (although the fillet steak last night was superb!), reasonable wine / beer, and good service.Prices aren't extortionate, a three course meal with plenty of house wine will be between €30-50 / head (pizza vs steak).Overall, we love it. It does what it says, well. As long as you know what to expect, I can't see anyone being disappointed.Last night there was an open air mini-concert, complete with stage and lights, which went on well past midnight. Loud, fun and lots of dancing!"
