I visited this restaurant around 8pm on the first day of my visit to Venice. The weather in Venice was chilly and humid, so it was difficult to wait. However, the wait time of 30 minutes was not that long due to the friendly response. They gave us plenty of time to choose our menu before other customers left the restaurant, and they also provided wifi so we could check the reviews and go in smoothly. I ordered fluit de mare, risotto, steak, and French fries, and had it with the recommended white wine. The total cost was just under 100 euros. As for food, the seafood spaghetti is by far the best. The risotto seemed like a lot for more than two people, but we ate it all in no time. However, the steak seemed a little undercooked. It was delicious though. It's a small store, but there are performers, and the staff's energy is very enjoyable. It was a fun meal time. FYI, the bathroom is clean."

"The main problem in Venice about restaurants is that they cater to tourists' tastes. Tourists come to Venice from all over the world, and they expect to find traditional Italian dishes in the restaurants. That's why you usually get, in the same restaurant, Lasagna (which...is from Bologna), Cotoletta (which is from Milan) and Paccheri all'Amalfitana (which is from... Amalfi). It's of course a total nonsense for Italians (and people with common sense), who are very proud of their culinary heritage. Well, if you want to eat in a REALLY AUTHENTIC Venetian restaurant, then Antico Giardinetto is THE place to go! Here is why: -Ingredients are extremely fresh and carefully selected by the Chef, who we met and spoke to. -Traditional Venetian Recipes like Antipasto Misto Veneziano are incredibly well done. "Fritto Misto for two is a must-go as it's probably the best ever Fritto we had in Italy (and we had many, from Amalfi to Portofino.. In fact it's a one-of-a-kind recipe, not to be missed, as there are ten (yes,, 10 types of fish&seafood, plus some magic ingredients like green apples. The taste is absolutely incredible and well worth the price paid. -The selection of Venetian Wines is perfect, we tried many in Venice, but the best we found was at the Antico Giardinetto: go for their Soave as it's light&savory. -Last but not least, the service is very good, the Lady who served us is very kind, patient and ready to help you if you have any question about the menu. All in all that was by far our best evening in Venice, we'll be back ASAP! Last tip: it's really better to reserve a table (especially if you want to dine in their small garden, do not forget mosquito repellent"

"for a 'dead and escape' occasion we found ourselves in Venice with the desire to dine. we searched for a local crossing a offer of the fork with reviews of T.A. and google, and so we found ourselves on the florida. Meanwhile the location on the big canal, a few steps from the rialto bridge already is suggestive, then, even if the dehors is cozy, we preferred to magic inside and we enjoyed a really nice, well furnished and clean room. also the staff, courteous and helpful, gave us the impression that it was a hungry team. we were greeted by 'chef' mario, which really made us feel as guests at his home. also to us has proposed the 'pazzo mad ', a fish menu that includes an appetizer, a first and a second. If we had accepted, he would have offered us dessert and lemonade. we said 'why not' and we accepted. So after a moment he showed us all the fish he would cook us. after a few arrived the scallops with prawn and to follow a tray with spaghetti with seafood and rombo presented on a 'ciotola ' made with pizza paste. ate the rhombus, we realized that in that 'ciotola' there were still seafood. We were in three times and we couldn't finish, despite being good forks. Maybe we should be ashamed, but we even made the shoe in the tray, so good. then, as promised, came the sweet, a baba with cream, simple but good and the limoncello. at the end of the dinner no surprise: the account actually was discounted according to the offer of the fork and the sweet and limoncello offered it was really, so no surprise. I don't know if we'll be back in Venice, but if it is, we'll definitely pass back to the florida, for the kitchen and the reception. a thanks to 'chef' mario and all the staff for the beautiful (and good) evening. fulvio jw"
