"Hey guys, I just finished a meal out with my mum here (Wigan). I wanted to let you know about my experience. It’s not that I don’t recommend but there seems to be some cross communication regarding the salad bar. Let me explain…. Mum and I spend almost £30 on 2 pizzas and fries. I went to the salad bar but she did not. I filled one bowl of nachos. Usually I leave a couple of slices at the end and so I asked for a box. As it states on the menu, the salad bar is unlimited and I had one measly bowl of nachos, so before I was leaving, I put my pizza left overs in a box and added some more nachos into the box. Bear in mind that we had no where near an unlimited amount and my mum had zero, so I was taking her share home if you will. Well apparently not, the manager lady come over and said that I could not take salad stuff home and I was so embarrassed that I didn’t think to tell her that I had only had a measly bowl of nachos and my mum had nothing from the salad bar. I left pretty mortified as it was in front of other people. I offered to give them back and the whole debacle was unpleasant. We went here to celebrate, after a wonderful all clear at the hospital for my mum, and it really messed up the day. I felt awful after and I do not see anywhere that you can not take your share of the salad bar home, if you don’t finish or want more. It probably won’t be my first choice to go there anymore. and by the way, I have been here when they are cleaning and closing and the amount of things in the salad bar that they waste and throw away is disgusting and a paying customer that’s spent £30 and goes often can’t put some nachos in her takeout box."

"We love a good Wether 's wherever we go, can always count on the good food for good prices, especially breakfast! We 've been to The Brocket tonnes of times over the years... (if you can find a Wigan 'er that hasn 't I 'd be very impressed) and it 's always been a great place. We haven 't been though in a couple years (since before COVID) and decided to stop by at the weekend for a spontaneous breakfast. The place is looking a little run-down now though to be honest, and here 's why: Even though the place was almost empty, half of the tables weren 't cleaned properly before we chose one. Eventually when we found a clean one suitable for me and my wife and our 1 year old daughter, the cushions on the bench chairs were all falling off, and there were ants residing in the window cills. We ended up moving again! Service wise, the only time we saw/spoke to anyone who worked there was the person who brought out our food, of which got it wrong and had to go back. They were also not really friendly, and quite cold/not helpful. As an example, I asked for Ketchup and was just responded with It 's self serve, its over there in an unfriendly (couldn 't be bothered dealing with me) manner. This all being said, we love the Brocket, its a decent little stop-off for a brekkie when we 're in the area, just wish it was looked after a little better. I think it needs a little bit of TLC personally."
