"We love a good Wether 's wherever we go, can always count on the good food for good prices, especially breakfast! We 've been to The Brocket tonnes of times over the years... (if you can find a Wigan 'er that hasn 't I 'd be very impressed) and it 's always been a great place. We haven 't been though in a couple years (since before COVID) and decided to stop by at the weekend for a spontaneous breakfast. The place is looking a little run-down now though to be honest, and here 's why: Even though the place was almost empty, half of the tables weren 't cleaned properly before we chose one. Eventually when we found a clean one suitable for me and my wife and our 1 year old daughter, the cushions on the bench chairs were all falling off, and there were ants residing in the window cills. We ended up moving again! Service wise, the only time we saw/spoke to anyone who worked there was the person who brought out our food, of which got it wrong and had to go back. They were also not really friendly, and quite cold/not helpful. As an example, I asked for Ketchup and was just responded with It 's self serve, its over there in an unfriendly (couldn 't be bothered dealing with me) manner. This all being said, we love the Brocket, its a decent little stop-off for a brekkie when we 're in the area, just wish it was looked after a little better. I think it needs a little bit of TLC personally."

Went with a couple of friends for an evening meal. The place was very busy but one of the waiters managed to find a place for us to sit. Food was served very fast.

Never again just been sent a £75 parking fine because the service was too slow. Lost our custom now and also my families, should have gone to Forbes on the Lane, good food and free parking, we just wanted to try the brocket cost us dearly.

FABULOUS EVENING. Lovely food and drinks. The waitress Bethany was lovely, really accommodating and made our evening!! Certainly go to this pub if you want friendly service, good food and drinks. Best experience in a Wetherspoons . Bethany is a credit to your team!

was told to wait while a table became free, fair enough. The lady then walked off and others walked in. She later came back and told me there were big queues for food and tables. As I walked off there was one empty table on sight. Very poorly run no organisation as I was next for a rable.

The Brocket used to be a regular thing for us locals for food. Not any more! Went last week, they had hardly anything on the menu, hardly tables had not been wiped (covid -19 infection paradise), almost every one had a pile of dirty plates on, and because of the poor service (guess they can't cope with the app orders and table service) we ended up going over the hour we'd paid for and received a £75 fine for the car park. Not cheap, no quality and wont be going again, like a lot of regulars. A nightmare !

We’re regulars at The Brocket however it just falls short in comparison to other Wetherspoons! The food doesn’t seem to be cooked in the same way as other Wetherspoons and falls short of being what it used to be. We usually sit round the back in the unofficial family area which unfortunately has quickly become the vaping area!!! Staff don’t seem to want to deal with it. I’ve asked the staff, I’ve asked the people who are vaping to stop and nothing happens. I can imagine this is difficult to deal with however it’s not what you want when I’m coming to eat. Please encourage and train your staff to speak to people vaping and back them up when they do! Thanks

I recently recommended the Brocket Arms for food to my teenager son and his girlfriend after several faultless visits by my wife and myself. My son visited on 12 August and unintentionally exceeded the parking by 20 minutes as they were still eating in the latter of the parking time. Days later a £75 fine came and she paid it to avoid the full amount. I understand parking in town centres must be policed to make sure the right people are parked there, like my son, but surely the Brocket could adopt a parking policy like The Toby Carvery where you register your car and get to eat your meal without the worry of going over your ticket. Any future people driving to eat at the Brocket I’d suggest...

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
