Afternoon Tea at Barns

A beautiful afternoon tea celebrating my birthday with my family.

Great food and service but very quiet the night we visited with only four other customers

The roast chicken was slightly tough. The rhubarb ice cream appeared to have been thawed and refrozen. The carrots were too firm and not suitable for consumption.

The restaurant had a good location, but the food was bland and poorly cooked. The service was decent, but not exceptional. Overall, it was a disappointing and overpriced experience. I don't understand how it received such a high rating on this app.

We had a most lovely afternoon tea celebrating my granddaughters 21st birthday. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and the food was great (even had a doggy bag to take home! lovely views over the River, and it was peaceful and relaxing.To crown it all we were presented with a bottle of bubbly-which was a pleasant surprise! All in all, a great way for the family to spend a couple of hours. Would thoroughly recommend it. Speisekarte ansehen

Booked for a birthday treat and was slightly disappointed, the service was great but minor things let it down. Sandwiches were dry on top pointing to not being freshly made, not enough cutlery and chipped milk jug. The desserts were also disappointing lack of variety. I had mentioned on the booking it was for a birthday but no mention was made. The meat board was the best thing on offer. Shame really was expecting it to be so much nicer.

One member of our group ordered the steak, which cost nearly £25. Unfortunately, the quality of the steak was abysmal. It was tough, fatty, and difficult to cut and chew. We were deeply disappointed that he left the restaurant feeling hungry. When we voiced our dissatisfaction, we were offered only one complimentary cup of coffee, which felt like an inadequate gesture given that our total bill was over £150. It will be a while before we consider returning to this establishment.

Lovely evening spent celebrating our wedding anniversary at the Barns. It was fairly quiet when we were there. The food was excellently presented and tasted gorgeous. Prices for each course were remarkably reasonable for the quality. My wife had the lamb rump with couscous which she enjoyed very much while I had the pan seared rump steak which was delicious. We thought that the service was a bit on the slow side but it didn't really matter as we were enjoying the evening so much. We can't wait for another opportunity to go back to the Barns.
