"This restaurant has lovely decor and a lot of potential but had a number of issues. Firstly when we arrived it was very busy with staff running around looking rather clueless, we assumed that maybe there was a lot of new staff and that there...were some unavoidable teething problems which we didn’t overly mind. Our main course however was served to us without cutlery and we had to call our waiter back over to ask to be given some, you would think they would have looked to see if we had this, but no. The food was nice but nothing to rave over and we did expect more from a restaurant like this, didn’t feel it was worth the premium prices. Secondly we ordered wine with our mains and as a young man who is not typically known to ever have worn lipstick, lo and behold on my wine glass before even drinking out of it was a rather large lipstick smudge (photo included). I am aware from working in the hospitality industry that dishwashers do sometimes struggle to fully clean lipstick from glassware but usually when polishing or bringing the glass to the table someone should notice, which leaves me to wonder if it had even been cleaned. We then told the manager about the problem who was very apologetic and did immediately replace the wine and the glass which at least made the experience slightly better. We were however disappointed that when we received the bill that no discount had been applied and that the 10% service fee was still included. We payed our bill and left feeling displeased. Although this restaurant has potential this unpleasant experience has put us off and I doubt that I’ve will ever return."

Everything was perfect. Staff were so lovely, not too much but always there when needed. Bucatini dish was so delicious. Prosecco and cocktails were perfect. Tiramisu was different to everywhere else I have tried before but was so nice! The atmosphere was so lovely, Can’t...wait to come back

Visited at 19:00 on a Monday night, place looks fantastic and really good atmosphere. Was seated quickly in a great booth by the window. The olives and carpaccio to start came quickly and the seafood pasta main and the mushroom pasta main were delicious! Staff...were super friendly and chatty. 10/10 would absolutely visit again.

excellent restaurant. saved on the day for my mother-in-law 70th birthday 8/5/22 they allowed us to bring cakes and balloons into the restaurant (other restaurant has a ban on celebrity with own cakes or any decorations,) we had an excellent meal and drinks, especially. our waitress very attentive (we never have a chance to thank her when she went on her break, which we ate in the restaurant many paints and not. perfect setting for a party

We visited to celebrate a birthday but sadly left underwhelmed! Our initial waitress was very good, very chatty and cheery but sadly she was so busy we didn’t see much of her. Other staff members weren’t so good. Our order was taken slightly abruptly. Our...starters arrived before our drinks. The food was good but the experience was ruined by the service. To top it all you’re requested to pay a 10% service charge for the experience ………….. We didn’t !

on Friday, when we were in Edinburgh, we booked a solemn meal for 27 from our office. we were accommodated in the private room below, which was nice. After having suffered a bad service over the years at different places in Britain, I can only say that eating and especially the service was absolutely brilliant. I personally had the bruschetta, gamboroni linguine and tiramisu fantastic. wein was also great and not too expensive. well made amorone and thank you.

amazing restaurant with fantastic eating and personal! as group of 27 we were offered the private dining room that we accepted it was beautiful and not disappointed! there were 3 waiters in the room that could not do enough for our party. No one was without empty glass and eating came fast and everything at the same time something that is a concern with a party of 27. eating was so tasty and everyone has pointed out how great their eating tasted that they are still! a beautiful restaurant with fantastic personal and exquisite eating!

Whilst on a long weekend break with friends, we were looking for a good place to eat. We came across Amarone while walking, and what a very pleasant find. It is, as with a lot of bars and restaurants in Edinburgh, an old bank, the...atmosphere was great, and it was very busy. The waiting team were excellent, extremely attentive, very well trained, and nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent with a very good variety using a fusion of Scottish and Italian. I would certainly recommend a visit, pricing is similar to restaurants on the Royal Mile, but quality and service is very much better.

when we wanted to go there on a beautiful Saturday evening in the mai, the restaurant was full. no worries, this evening we made a reservation, and the next day we returned. the reservation was good as it seemed that the restaurant was full again. Large,... roomy with an atmosphere of luxus and fine eating that the prices are fortunate. because it was completely full, the room got a little loud, and the music system brought us only a mud of midtones. the menu had some original dishes that we had not met before, such as the starter burrata (a mozzarella-like soft white cheese) with prosciutto and fresh feigen (see photo) wonderful. also casarecce al ragù, a penne-like pasta with a ragout of p...

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
