Anstruther Fish - Speisekarte

As is normal we had a 15min wait to get a table to eat in but it was well worth it. Lovely fresh food, the staff were extremely busy but good humoured and great service.

Anstruther Fish Bar is a fish and chip paradise! Their fish and chips are outstanding, and the friendly staff make dining here a delightful experience. If you're in Anstruther, it's a must-visit!

Fabulous haddock, chips and mushy peas with bread butter and tea. Efficient, friendly staff. Everywhere very clean with floors swept before the next people were shown to their table. Very busy and staff coped well. Speisekarte ansehen

Really disappointed. Although the fish was fresh and moist,I'm used to a much larger portion of actual fish...more batter than fish.....I guess a larger fish wouldn't fit into the boxes the meal is served in. Prefer my meal in a restaurant served on a plate.

Lovely hake in breadcrumbs and husband enjoyed a steak pie supper. Efficient and friendly service. Peppermint tea and homemade tartar sauce were a bonus. Really enjoyed this fish and chip night. Seating if fixed so not very comfortable however it was all very clean.

Just had the worst prawns in batter and white pudding supper ever! Chips had been lying for sometime not fresh cold little bits. Curry sauce peas I’ve thrown out fresher food. Always looked forward to our visits but won’t be back unfortunately. Very disappointing who ever served up this food must know this is below standard. Speisekarte ansehen

We visited this fish and chip restaurant before, around 15 years ago in 2007. It doesn't seem to have changed at all - the exterior and interior could use some updating, as well as the staff. They didn't even offer curry sauce, which was disappointing. The food was overpriced, dry, and boring. We had much better fish and chips at the Wee Chippy nearby.

The Anstruther Fish Bar serves the best fish and chips in town! As regular customers living locally, we have tried all 3 fish and chip shops in Anstruther, but the batter at the Anstruther Fish Bar is the lightest and the chips are the crispiest. Despite some recent negative reviews, our fish suppers (both breaded and battered) were delicious as always, featuring large, incredibly fresh haddock and generous portions of chips. It's possible that those reviewers were just unlucky or perhaps they have ulterior motives.

We have been fans of AFB for many years and have visited numerous times in the past. Unfortunately, our most recent visit fell short for several reasons. The food was average at best, with dry and chewy fish, soggy batter, tasteless chips, and unappetizing peas. The decor was outdated and worn-out, and the bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired. It's a shame to see a once beloved restaurant decline in quality. While we understand that businesses have faced challenges in recent years, it's important to maintain high standards to stay competitive. With other fish shops nearby, AFB needs to step up their game to stand out. It's time to update and improve to recapture the charm and appeal... Speisekarte ansehen
