"When we arrived at 12.15 we wondered if they were open, we could see no-one inside or out, then we noticed a couple of lights on. We were also confounded to see that the lunch-time menu had reached the low and high twenties for two and three courses respectively. There was a plat-de-jour at 11€ and a dessert-de-jour at 3€. I’m sounding like a bit of a skinflint and that’s probably true, but all the same the restaurant was far emptier than I’ve seen it for a long time and there seemed to be a complete absence of anyone who wasn’t a ‘leisure’ user. Lots of English and a couple of large groups of French, but the workers seem to have disappeared. We’d have liked a starter, but that wasn’t to be, so straight into the main course. A choice of Pavé de Beouf or Tendrons de Veau. The explanation of what a tendron is was too difficult for us and a quick google translate didn’t enlighten. We opted for the beef, mine saignant, P’s a point. It was served with potatoes, and vegetables, consisting of tomatoes and courgette in a herby sauce. I had a good thick slab of beef whilst P had two thinner pieces. It was good beef, but I wasn’t able to eat a lot of it because I couldn’t cut it despite being furnished with a steak knife. I’m carrying a wrist injury sustained at work and I just couldn’t cut through the tendons which intersected the meat. It’s a shame we hadn’t brought the dog, I feel embarrassed sending half my food back. We love this place and I’m sorry to have to write less than fulsomely about our meal, that’s a shame."

We sit there for one hour without any service. Conclusion: they are allergic for work and hate tourists.

Food was ok, menu ok service ok, trying to find something to rave about but to be honest it was just ok. Sorry to say if there other places open, I would try them before going back.

We had lunch at this restaurant in a lovely spot right in the river. The service was good and the food we had was very nice - generous portions. Food is French/Italian. We would definitely go back!

We stumbled across this lovely restaurant on a Sunday afternoon drive to the river. We had an absolutely delicious lunch, and really appreciated the excellent service and lovely views of the Lot from the terrace. The three course set menu was superb value for money, and our group of four all had different dishes and we loved all of them.

Stooped for coffee here a week or so ago and thought it was the best Grande Creme we had had for ages. Decided to stop for lunch the other day and I ordered the menu du jour which looked nice. My wife however is a vegetarian and the menu du jour was meat dish. The only other lunchtime option was pizza. When she requested any other options only a goats cheese said was available. Coffee was again great though!

I make no apology for writing another review of Au Fil de L'eau, I use TA as a means of keeping track of where I've eaten, what I had and what I thought of it. And we were wowed by the most recent lunch here on a cold February Thursday lunch time, a plat de jour of Bourguingnon which was absolutely fantastic, long cooked quality meat, accompanied by sautée potatoes, salad and risotto which was one of the best things I've eaten for a while and certainly lifted the whole dish.

I went here for lunch with my son ,daughter in law and baby grandson . None of us could finish our meal . It was Ill conceived, over salted and badly presented. My daughter in law and I had fish in a honey and tomato sauce which was dreadful. My son had confit of duck which was stringy and tasted old. My grandson had breaded fish and chips which was smothered in salt. The salads were from a packet, wilted ,over ripe tomatoes and way too much oil . I will never go back here .nobody asked me how my meal was , they must have known!

Today we booked, for 1pm not wanting to rush. The place was busy when we arrived, the nearby car park full of EDF, SAUX and other vans and their occupants occupied with their lunches. We were offered Crevettes, Magret and dessert. The food as usual was great and as good as you'd expect for a set lunch menu, with the bonus of a terrace and a river view. The crevettes and aioli were delicious but messy, being served in a little bowl with no finger wiping thingy and the soap had run out in the toilets. That's the only negative point to make. I don't get upset by such lapses if the food's good. Service was a little slow, but that was ok, an apology was given, but it wasn't needed we were happy s...

We first visited this restaurant over a year ago, and the food was pretty awful. We both ordered a salad, which was mostly oil, and the service was slow, so we did not return that year.We returned this year, as they had added pizza to the menu and we wanted to try it out again. We had our two dogs with us and it was very hot out, despite being 7 pm. When we first arrived at 6:30 we asked if we could sit outside with the (very quiet) dogs, and were told we could, only for the waitress to then tell us that nothing would be served until 7, so off we went. When we returned, we were not allowed to sit at the table we chose, in the shade, due to having dogs with us. To be honest, we should have le...
