Auberge du Chateau - Speisekarte

Not good enough, very basic food. Meat was semi ok, but vegi’s and patatoe (which seem to come with everything) don’t have much flavour. Icecream was so uneatible that the kids refused to eat it.

Such a stunning setting, but, food was less than average and the service sadly lacking. No one came to say thank you when we’d finished the meal and paid. Have been here previously and had much better food service, such a shame.

With the view of Biron castle and amazingly friendly Staff, i had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Biron castle. Very good food and many options for drinks which are all reasonably priced.

We stopped in for lunch until the Chateau De Biron opened. We had hardly any French, but waitress was very helpful and offered a vegan version of one of the dishes on the menu. It was an enormous plate of vegetables, nuts and fruit that...we only just managed to eat. We had wine and coffee in a pleasant atmosphere until the Chateau opened. The euro was very reasonable for four dishes, four drinks and two coffees in comparison to Surrey prices (if you could find such a delicious meal in Surrey).

Having read the reviews after I had booked, I was not expecting good things. Mine and my sisters birthday experience couldn’t have been further from the experiences of others on TA. The service was lovely, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and beautifully served,...the price was on a par with others in the area. The only negative was to do with the heat, it was an exceptionally hot day but I feel that could invest in more shade, we were absolutely drenched with sweat by the time we left , it was too much. I will definitely return but in the cooler months of the year

We arrived today for lunch prior to looking round the castle. Although the food was fairly decent, and could have scraped a review, the service was shocking and clearly the young waiter was more interested in serving the locals than tourists. He totally forgot...my sons meal, which eventually came out after I’d finished my burger, not great. We had to ask for the kids drinks twice, as did another table with him serving, and then also the same for the bill after a near on ten minute wait after the first time of asking. The icing on the cake was when he was clearly having a laugh on at us with another couple of french customers. We eat in many restaurants of different levels all over the world...

Why do people own or work in the restaurant trade if you don’t like people ? We sat down at around and looked at the menus. The waiter/manager came over and when I asked (in French) whether it was possible for food he replied...sharply....”no fini, food stops at o’clock!” (Hint take the food menus from the tables when you want to shut the kitchen) I asked if we could have a drink and he said yes but then didn’t take our order and turned away. We waited patiently for him to return and take our order but he ignored our attempts at eye contact. We recently bought a property in Biron v much want to support our neighbouring businesses if and when we can. We have dined twice at the auberge. The food is good, regional fayre, served by very helpful staff who work hard to please. There...is a good choice of wines too and whether you eat outdoors on the terrace or indoors, the ambiance is very pleasing. Of course the setting is fab, right in the courtyard of the chateau itself, which offers a certain ‘frisson’ if you take yourself back in time. We cannot fault the food, service or setting. So, my brother lives near here and over the years has visited many times, decided it was to be the venue for my final lunch before returning to the UK. Looked on TripAdvisor and google and information seemed a bit confused but decided to go...anyway he had always found it good and a great venue. When we arrived he said it’s obviously changed hands, we were not sure what to expect. A single double sided laminated sheet was presented for drinks/wine with a second sheet for food.
