"What is the point in having staff when we do all the service? Despite the restaurant-like prices, the service is that of a pub, though you get a more hands on approach in a Weatherspoon’s. You have to go and order your drinks and food yourself at the bar and take them BACK to your table yourself. Be sure not to drop your drinks when going back to your table because they will have you play cleaner as well as waiter. When ordering a jug of water to the table, we asked for glasses to which the server responded “yeah they’re by the bar” and walked off. Were it not for us requesting that (shock horror) the waiter bring the glasses, we would not have got them. As we were the ones waiting for over an hour, it’s no wonder we assumed the role of waiter. No explanation from staff as to the hour wait for our SANDWICH. Not even a gesture of good-will in the form of a complementary drink or even an apology. We shan’t be returning."

Lovely hotel and great room. Staff were lovely and helpful too. Only slightly let down by relying on public car parks. We spent 20 minutes one sunny bank holiday weekend trying to find a spot even within a 10 minute walk in order to check in.

We used to love going here in the summer months, outside tables and views are great, but the food has gone downhill far too much sadly. We used to love the seafood platter (now off the menu) so we had crab and also prawn sandwiches. Both were Virtually tasteless! So sadly won't be going again until they improve things!

The meal was enjoyable, with a few vegan choices available in each course. However, the restaurant should refine their menu. The sticky toffee pudding was listed as vegan, and it was, but the vanilla ice cream served with it was not. Thankfully, I always ask questions and discovered this discrepancy. The restaurant has assured me they will review and revise their menu.

Food was really disappointing and very expensive for what it was. Prices are the same as far better restaurants in central London. My son's burger was also clearly undercooked and had to be sent back. The chicken breast in my meal looked like it had come straight out of a supermarket value pack. This is a good place for drinks and the view, and staff are good, but food is poor

We are a women's walking group with a half-way point coffee stop as the highlight of our walk. The week before last, we walked from Ramsgate to Broadstairs and stopped for a coffee at the Royal Albion. Coffee was perfect and was prepared and presented artistically by Molly. Really happy with the coffee and the service, Molly was full of enthusiasm and we will definitely be stopping there again.

Went out for my Birthday evening meal with the family. We had a very attentive waitress (didn't catch her name but thank you). When we booked a table we were asked if we had any dietary requirements and as my wife has to eat gluten free they had a gluten free menu waiting for us when we arrived. Really good food and nice views of the sea from some of the tables (we cheekily asked for a table with a view and they very much obliged).

Charming stay on a weekend visit to escape the heat. Incredible view of the sea from the room. A little noisy with party music and people having a good time at a weekend night because of the area; however, the partying finished around midnight. Slept with the windows open, which allowed for the gentle sea breeze to come in through the night. Lovely breakfast in the morning, and a great crowd at the pub, with outdoor seating with a great view of the sea, throughout the day. Highly recommended!

Last week I treated my sister visiting from America and myself to one night at this hotel, which I had never been to before. It was absolutely fantastic ambience, service, food and especially the sea view from our rooms. My husband and I will be coming here for a night in July. I should single out the receptionist Olga, all the waiters and waitresses, supervisor Harvey and deputy supervisor Charlotte. They were excellent and very nice. I wish we had such good service in London restaurants. I very highly recommend the Royal Albion Hotel in Broadstairs.

This was my first time in Broadstairs. My omni sisters and I decided to dine at this restaurant. There were a few good vegan options on the menu. I started with the delicious mushrooms on toast, followed by a burger and sweet potato fries. The restaurant has outside seating with a beautiful view overlooking the sea. I believe it would be very busy in peak season, so it's worth booking a table. We had to wait about 40 minutes for our food because it was a sunny day and very busy. Despite the wait, I would definitely return because the setting is so beautiful.

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
