"We booked this via the Fork as we were running late and did not know this particular area. The waiter had a really hard time taking the order and came back 3 times to check he had understood. The 4th time he came back with a waitress, I have to note here she was the only one who was polite and trying her best, who told us that half of our order wasn't available as they only served it in the evening. The waiter then came back again and we were told another dish wasn't available so we changed again. The cheese platter starter was ok. The meat dish, tagliata, finally arrived after an extremely long wait, covered in salad and with a huge pile of roughly grated cheese which was not Parmigiano or Grana, on top. I literally could not cut the meat with my knife it was so tough. I tried a small piece in my mouth and it was horrible, full of fat and it tasted bad. The cheese dish, scamorza with truffles, was old cheese and the truffles were a cheap paste that did not smell good at all. We told the waiter about both dishes, he said it could be that my meat dish wasn't cooked enough! I showed him that the knife couldn't cut it and asked him to bring the bill immediately. No apology, no offer to exchange it for something else. The bill did not arrive, we asked again and finally got up and went to the bar to ask for it. The nice waitress was very apologetic and we clearly heard her ask the lady in change to give us the bill. Another ten minutes passed, finally the lady came in and gave us the bill. I told her that the meat was uneatable as she could see from my plate and that it couldn't be cut by a knife. She very rudely told us it was fine and that they'd just eaten it themselves. Needless to say we will NEVER go there again."

Pizza is excellent and the best arrosticini I have ever had! Great orinignal food from Abruzzo. If you are in Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo you must try it.

La Cucina è Buona e Rustica, buona scelta di primi piatti tutti sempre molto gustosi, i secondi di Carne RIGOROSAMENTE ABBRUZZESE ottimi gustosissimi ovviamente anche i famosi Arrosticini, buono anche il caffè, Prezzi nella media.

after a nice walk to the tower, we return to the base and indicate the restaurant bar balu'. kind and excellent cook the lady lucia, very beautiful and very good sergio that comes from napoli to work here excellent and true kitchen. maltagliati with black cabbage and chickpeas, fantastic, spaghetti on the guitar to the very good ragù. well also the tiramisu strictly made in the house. like all kitchen, pasta included. recommended fabulous price quality

Devo dire che mi sono trovato molto bene, i proprietari sono veramente disponibilissimi!!! Ho mangiato veramente bene, in due abbiamo mangiato 3 primi e siamo rimasti contenti della scelta, pasta fresca, ma non solo anche i vari ingredienti lo sono, il secondo di carne 'angus ' era fresca. Ho prenotato con the forc, fatelo anche voi. Ci tornerò volentieri!!!!! L 'ambiente è molto casereccio e potete chiedere alla cuoca tutte le vostre e eventuali richieste per la preparazione del cibo!!!!

... partenza diesel, finale esplosivo. Abbiamo potuto gustare bruschette al tartufo e fiori di zucca ottimi, gnocchi tagliati a mano con funghi e ragù di agnello (deliziosi! , pappardelle al tartufo e funghi e infine ottimi dolci fatti in casa, tiramisù e panna cotta per la precisione. Sicuramente la presenza folta di clienti ha causato un servizio a singhiozzo, tuttavia il tutto compensato dalla simpatia e competenza del personale e dalla bontà del cibo servito. Disagio comprensibile visto il periodo agostano e l'avvento di numerosi turisti. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Da provare!!!!

Nella nostra gita abruzzese abbiamo fatto diverse tappe, ma ad Ortona ci siamo allungati soltanto nella strada del ritorno a Roma perché ho trovato questo ristorante tramite thefork. Il locale è molto rustico ed è anche bar all'ingresso. Il personale è stato super gentile ed il cibo tutto buonissimo, con pasta fresca fatta da loro e dolci artigianali. L'impressione che lascia è quella di un ambiente incredibilmente familiare nonostante per noi fosse la prima volta lì. Abbiamo provato due primi (ravioli con zucca, salsiccia e crema di gorgonzola e tagliatelle ai funghi porcini) e un arrosto misto per secondo accompagnato da patate al forno. Abbiamo chiuso con due tiramisù, uno classico ed uno...
