Hyper friendly ownership. We spent a night with a campervan. Very warming welcome. Lovely place.

It's a nice local pub, they're polite and civil. The regulars are welcoming and when requested they even agreed to put the match on!

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic with its location right on the canal. There are plenty of passing canal boats and excellent walking paths. It's only a 30 minute walk into town. Richard, the manager, is amazing, as are the two owners. The chef is truly talented and the breakfast is excellent. The prices are very reasonable and they are dog friendly. The toilets are open during business hours and there is fresh water available. It may not have electrical hookups, but it is very quiet and peaceful. I give it a perfect 10 out of 10 rating.

We took advantage of the Barley Mow's canalside location to meet up with old friends as we were passing through on our narrowboat and they in their motorhome. We booked a table for the evening were glad we had as the place was busy with a mixture of locals and visitors eating and drinking. The atmosphere was lively and Richard and his staff were welcoming attentive throughout our meal. A good range of lagers and ales were on offer and the menu was wide, varied and well priced. Our meals were delicious with ample portions; we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend that you call in and experience for yourself what good things Richard and his staff are doing here.

The Managers were so friendly and hugely accommodating to us. We were on our boat and they were lovely, helpful and lots of fun. Also on the Sunday, we had planned to cruise back to our Marina but the weather was appalling so we went back to the pub and asked about eating there again. It was Mothering Sunday and they were heaving so they didn't think they'd be able to accommodate us but they asked us to hold on and not give up. Towards the end of their extremely busy service, they managed to squeeze us in and were, once again, so friendly and accommodating, checking on us and that the food was fine etc. They are both fantastic people and great managers.
