Recently discovered this charming little restaurant in Ipswich and had a fantastic experience. The Rib Eye sharer was a standout, with incredibly delicious meat and tasty sides. Highly recommend it!

"The lunch menu is priced at £15.50 for 3 courses with a glass of wine, which is great value. We had a nice lunch on Tuesday, but were not happy when the waiter started clearing the table while one of us was still eating. The table next to us also had the same problem and their bill was reduced as a result. Perhaps the waiter needs to improve their customer service skills, as we have never encountered this issue before. However, this won't deter us from returning soon, as the food is always excellent."

"What a fantastic place! We have dined on seafood from various locations and must admit that everything was incredibly fresh and satisfying. We made a reservation and confirmed it with the staff. Upon our arrival in the evening, we were treated with great care. The oysters from Colchester were a highlight; one of our guests claimed they were better than the ones she had in France and were exceptionally fresh. We enjoyed a wonderful selection of different fish and squid, which was prepared in a unique yet excellent manner. The salmon and plaice were also very fresh and delicious, and the sea bass was delightful as well! The new potatoes were excellent, and the chips were even better than what you find at most other places. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!"

"Our 20 yr old student son was visiting Ipswich as part of an upcoming placement. He had to stay in a hotel for two nights on his own and eat out for dinner as nothing available in the hotel. He went to ASK at around 6.30pm and asked for a table … he was told they ‘already had too many’ despite all the empty tables and him being on his own. Very offhand and rude and made him feel very uncomfortable. On phoning afterwards we were told they were short staffed and having a difficult day. Nice of them to take it out on a young man on his own. Shameful behaviour! The reality is he was one person, it was early doors, and all he wanted was a warm meal after a long day. He wouldn’t have been taking a table up all night and making demands on the staff. If you happen to find yourself in a similar situation save yourself the trouble and just go to Prezzo. Or just go to Prezzo in any event."

"The food arrived in a timely manner, well presented, hot, and served as requested (beef). Our plates were cleared in a reasonable time after we finished, and we ordered desserts, which also came out quickly. I had no issues with my dessert; I simply asked to swap bananas for vanilla ice cream, and that was done without any fuss. Everything was delicious. The portion sizes were generous, even for my mom, who has a small appetite. She enjoyed her meal so much that she nearly cleared her plate. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. We look forward to returning in the near future. Thank you!"

"I was two thoughts whether I should recommend this restaurant, the first selfish reason was that I would be able to easily get a table whenever I wanted, and recommended would mean more customers, excellent for the grill, not so excellent for us! I feel that I have to book a lot in advance as this place is so good. I thought then that when we had such an amazing time that I really should let others know how good the grill really is! great family owned and run restaurant, service brilliant, no question was too difficult or too much annoyed. felt like royal and attentive staff made the dinge so comfortable. the food that all cooked to order, fresh ingredients and served hot was excellent and a long way from the chain restaurant tepid bland fare. the chef has cooked everything to order and perfection and follow special diets without problems, so if they change from normal high street food factories and want some really excellent dishes I would highly recommend. we have found a brilliant place and cannot wait to visit again. cannot recommend very enough and have never given more than 4 stars, 5 should only be used for the extraordinary and this restaurant is excellent."
