Brasserie Bärengraben

While the historic small restaurant is rather small, it has created a familiar atmosphere, offers a wide range of typical Swiss dishes and this in outstanding quality. Goes without saying that also the wine menue is great.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in a calm atmosphere at the Barengraben. The wait staff is a bit stuffy but the service was fine and the food was excellent, though expensive. The decor of the restaurant is quiet and inviting.

I went there with my parents to lunch. We hadn’t booked a table, but they moved tables to “create” one for us which was really kind. Food was excellent and tasty. than enough in plates. You can definitely go there if you’re looking...for simple but really tasty food.

Wow, what a lovely place to dine, the cook knows his business. what ever you like, from soup to pasta, from beef to mussels, great taste, really nice staff, warm hearted cosy place. You need a little bit of time, dont be on a hurry,...be happy and lucky to get a table and then enjoy !!

we have been visiting this nice restaurant on a sunny saturday and could enjoy the small but very cosy terrace, outside of the restaurant. the food was excellent and the service very friendly and professionell. we enjoyed a nice stay, were never stressed and looking...forward to sit in this restaurant during winter time.

We had lunch at the occasion of my wife’s Birthday on August The staff is so welcoming and organized a perfect lunch . The menu card has a lot options . We both went for the steak tartar which was of superb quality and...taste . Well done Chef ! Our other table partners had lovely rösti with veal or liver slices . The red wine recommendation could not have been better as we needed to continue our bike ride . The seating was lovely , cosy and with nice fresh flowers. From the first minute until the last you feel well taken care off . My wife was nicely treated with a Surprise Birthday Cake . We will for sure come back when we are in Berner area . Thanks Again ! Ein Freund von mir liebt dieses Restaurant und hat mich eingeladen. Obwohl wir keine Reservierung hatten, wurde ein Tisch gefunden. Wir bestellten das Plat du Jour, ersetzten die Suppe jedoch durch einen Salat, der extra kostete. Der Salat unterschied sich nicht von anderen Salaten, die man in einem normalen Schweizer Restaurant bekommt. Das Hauptgericht bestand aus sehr leckeren, mit Mais gefütterten Hühnchen und dünnen Nudeln. Alles in allem war es ok, aber nichts Außergewöhnliches. Ungewöhnlich war jedoch der unfreundliche Service. 95 aller Schweizer Restaurants verfügen über ein sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Servicepersonal. Das war also eher enttäuschend für ein ansonsten angeneh...

Am 27. August aßen wir anlässlich des Geburtstages meiner Frau zu Mittag. Das Personal ist sehr herzlich und organisiert ein perfektes Mittagessen. Die Menükarte verfügt über eine Reihe von Optionen. Wir entschieden uns beide für das Steaktar, das von ausgezeichneter Qualität und Geschmack war. Gut gemacht, Koch! Unsere anderen Tischpartner hatten wunderschöne Rösti mit Kalbs- oder Leberscheiben. Der empfohlene Rotwein hätte nicht besser sein können, da wir unsere Radtour fortsetzen mussten. Die Sitzgelegenheiten waren schön, gemütlich und mit wunderschönen frischen Blumen. For many years visiting Bern my family and I keep promising ourselves a visit to this restaurant, sadly our long wait was a disappointment . The food is excellent, a really good for value Day Card plus a good a la carte menu....Prices were reasonable and the desserts were great they even offer half portions on the dessert in case you have eaten too much already. BUT and it is a big but. We had booked a table for four on a Friday evening.
