"this is a medium-sized restaurant (brassiere) next to the temporary indoor market. the original hall looks like it was renovated. eating is really good, very beautiful presented, a good selection of dressed and good portions. many French come here for lunch or just sit. next to coffee and wine. service is fast and the decor is clean, modern and easy. it is suitable for disabled outside, as it is very close outside the paid toilets, but within the facilities possibly not accessible for wheelchair users. there are parking spaces and a disabled parking close to the wine shop in rue de halles. central location ."

You wont die eating the food. But also not enjoy it. Very simple food and poor quality lettuce. Basically the only positive thing is the free water you get. So if you dont die out of hunger, search for another place.

We have been in France for two weeks and haven't had a bad meal within those two weeks!! I've got to say this place is very disappointing, the food isn't fresh it's just all frozen and fried and the staff are rude!! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

we stopped after a good walk through the limoges centre for lunch in le captain. the staff was very friendly and the food was great. I had the plat de jour and my wife the vegetarian lasagne. both were excellent. would definitely come back.

Here for lunch whilst exploring Limoges. I had a very tasty roast chicken breast with ratatouille and fries followed by the café gourmand. I can't fault it. Delicious, well prepared and good value. Sitting outside the atmosphere was convivial and the staff attentive and efficient.

The sea food is frozen deep fried and dry, the chips are deep fried shop bought and the staff are too busy (if you don't speak fluent French) The salad was browning and the children's meals were vile And the fact they have a fresh...sea food market within 50m's makes this even worse

beautiful unpretentious friendly restaurant. simple menu, well cooked and presented eating. courtesy and attentive staff with good attention to the needs of customers, including the provision of a water dish for our dog, without having to ask, it just came with the bottle of table water. for us.

I enjoyed a nice lunch here. I had the record de hour. a beautiful bavette steak with blue cheese sauce, fries and a prime salad with a beautiful chocolate fond for dessert all for €9.50 my partner had also an salat I had enjoyed. excellent and service super. Recommend and would visit again. beautiful location opposite les halles (currently under renovation) in the heart of the city.

The Brassiere is located opposite Les Halles and seems to be run efficiently by a couple of lovely ladies. We were attracted by the chalk board offering a beef stroganoff for €9. The place is scrupulously clean and the service efficient. They accommodated our lack...of French when I was fascinated by a scrumptious looking dessert being devoured by one of the diners I wanted what he was having so the waitress asked him what it was and we duly ordered the multiple ice cream dish which lived up to the look and certainly the taste.

"Only just of the beaten track which makes parking much easier! This restaurant is expensive in relation to others but is good value considering the quality and service. The menu takes a bit of working out as prices for steak are quoted by weight (multiples of 100gms) and the minimum weight you can order is also stated. To make matters more complicated you can also chose how many weeks the meat has been matured for. Whether you choose Classic or 4 week mature, the quality is all good and extremely well cooked. Even meat cooked very rare is melting. This is a "proper" steak restaurant so make sure you go for the steak. There are fixed price menus but I would keep it simple. Steak, chips with its side of vegetables. Pork and lamb is also available and there is a concession to non-meat eaters in the form of a mushroom omelette. I am sure it is delicious ......Wine is also priced at the top end and excellent. . House wine is also very acceptable.Whenever we have visited the clientele have been all French from the professional classes who are there to see and be seen. Its fascinating ! One little niggle. At the price, the amuse bouche could have been more exciting than a thin slice of fairly mundane salami with a chunk of bread. For faux filet (250 gms) and a large entrecote steak (450 gms) , with a bottle of AC Beaujolais the bill will be around 70 Euros. A starter and pud could increase that by at least 20 Euros. Nevertheless, recommended for the quality, service and ambience. The staff are really charming."
