"Jet lagged, tired and hungry, but just a little, I started walking down St Jean looking for something to eat. I didn't want a burger, or something packaged but also didn't want a full fledged meal. Saw a long line of people trying to get into this place and without thinking got in line behind them.Glad I did l, it fit the bill perfectly, given what I was looking for. Fresh panini, Coke, and pink frosted donut for 6 Euro. As I was waiting for my panini, I looked across and saw a subway, why would you ever go to subway with this place across the street??? Beats me. Point at what you want and you will be fine. English seems good too but not Spanish. Again like most my reviews, I am not rating this vs a 5 star restaurant, but it he likes places. no seating outside, but not steps nearby substitute nicely."

What a great serendipitous treasure! While we didn't have any of the great-looking paninis we did enjoy the simple and wonderfully delicate Bugnes and barely discerned what we think was a wisp of an orange flavor. Fantastic! I'd love to know how to make them.

So, uh. Let's be clear, it's not a great gastronomy. the bakery part is not up to what is expected of a bakery. and the snack evening that takes place at night, is not always the most appetizing. but purée, of purée, which saves life in the middle of the night! You come out of the evening, the snow, the sale or the rain, it's always open! and nothing but for that, it deserves a fourth star!

we have discovered a few sitting on an outside table, what looked like really nice sandwiches. we were so surprised to enter this little bakery to find not only sandwiches, but also quiches, drinks and desserts available for a lunch package price! my man ordered a...ham and brie baguette; I had a sweetheart. wwe had this right on a huge chocolate chip cookie and a dose soda (him) and foam water (me). all for 6 euro each!

Tiny bakery perfect for a quick bite or baked specialty to go. Everything very fresh. They have two sidewalk tables, so you can stay and eat your crispy panini hot off the press. Beautiful desserts also. Young woman who helped us spoke perfect English. Located directly across from a Subway sandwich shop, sandwiches priced similarly, yet the difference in quality could not be more stark, like a Yugo parked next to a Ferrari.

"My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night (having made a reservation several days in advance), and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in France in a long time. We reserved for the early seating, showed up on time, and were among the first customers there. We had a small table near the door. The disadvantage is that we were occasionally wafted by a cold draft from the front door. The bigger advantage was that we were sitting near the restaurant's beautiful, precision, hand-operated meat slicer. The specialty starter is beef that has been cured for seven months with seven spices. It is sliced paper thin (and that is no exaggeration) and served heaped on a plate. Heavenly. My wife and I ordered only one of these plates and it was more than ample for the two of us.That was followed by our starters. I ordered the minestrone marocain légèrement épicé comme à Tanger (Moroccan minestrone, lightly spiced as in Tangiers), and my wife the rillettes de crabe aux petits légumes et Granny Smith (shredded crab with little vegetables and pieces of Granny Smith apple). Both were delicious. For our main dishes I had a pavé de cerf (deer steak), which was ample and perfectly cooked. My wife had fish, also cooked to perfection. I don't recall the wine we ordered, but the choice was from wines that were at their peak (not just wines one or two years old), yet the prices were reasonable. One remark about the decore: it manages to be a bit traditional and modern at the same time, with reproductions of paintings by Modigliani and various early 20th-century (mainly French) artists adorning the wall.Overall, a restaurant worth going out of your way for."
