Brewers Fayre Cockermouth

The restaurant was not very busy, but we had to wait a long 40 minutes for our main course. The food was average. The staff were friendly but not very attentive. Dessert was served promptly.

On a busy Sunday lunch day we ate an excellent quality superb value lunch. The meats were goid and the vegetables etc superb. Andrea was particularly organised and calm during the initial surge of demand for this event. Well done all we will be back.

Absulote appalling service and food , staff walking round like zombies , 1 hour wait for food and 1 hour wait for pudding .mixed grill was disgusting .steak was raw ,eggs freezing ,complained and git a sorry about that .Will not be back there ! Even the toilets where disgusting Speisekarte ansehen

This was one of the worst meals I've ever had. From the service which, was abysmally slow for peak time on a Sunday in a carvery, to the food which was just so poor it's unexplainable. The plates, cutlery and glasses were filthy. The meat was dry and the veg was tasteless. Awful atmosphere. Will never go back.

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. The staff, particularly Manager Andrea, were exceptional - professional, friendly, and their customer service was outstanding. Special thanks to Andrea for her excellent service. Ben, who was working behind the bar, also provided great customer service. Thank you to both Andrea and Ben for making our visit perfect.

If we hadn't been traveling all day, I would have looked for another option, but this restaurant is connected to the Premier Inn where we were staying. Fred Carnoes is no match for this place - it's a complete joke of a restaurant and pub. The staff is incompetent and the service is atrocious. Went tonight with two friends to sample the Christmas fare menu, have to say it was not a great experience. The starters were okay but the turkey dinner was the worst we have ever had. It came 1 hour after we had finished our starters. We were given three desserts for free because of the time delay and they were not great either, finally got money back on one main course. Will not be returning anytime soon and feel sorry for anyone who has booked to go there Christmas day.

Ate on 15th Feb 2024. Appalling service. Only 3 staff on. 2 milling around doing nothing other than having their own drink behind the bar ignoring customers waiting to be seated for over 10 minutes. 1 woman taking orders at the bar very slowly. Took 25 minutes to order and another 30 minutes for food to arrive. Staff dont speak, not even to apologise for the wait, greet you or ask if you need any sauces etc. They couldnt look less interested if they tried. Food average and Luke warm at best. Dont bother, this is nothing like other brewers fayres.

Accused me of not paying for my breakfasts with the family, spoke about this in front of other diners and didn’t allow my wife and children to leave the table, as I frantically searched for proof of payment. Came down, told them that cash was used and didn’t have proof on my card statement, and was faced with a look of being a liar. I had paid for 2 breakfasts the day before, possibly a mixed message had occurred, but was told by the woman on shift that she will “give us the benefit of the doubt” Annoyed me, my wife and startled one of my kids into thinking we had done something wrong.
