Bulls Head - Speisekarte

What a lovely setting. The food was delicious and served hot and the service was friendly and good. The fried fish was excellent as the batter was thin and crispy.

A public house that does everything perfectly right. Great drinks, beautiful classy interior, superb friendly service. Shout out goes to Josh who always looked after us so well during the Women's WC screenings. 10/10

This used to be my favourite pub in Barnes, now beers are regularly off and I have just been served an inedible meal. Chicken Kiev burnt, mash unseasoned and rubbery form of greens I think was supposed to be kale. The gravy was solid globule of fat. Just walked out in disgust. Never again Speisekarte ansehen

Five of us had Sunday lunch. The roasts, which my friends had, all looked tasty and were good value for money. I just had hummous and bread was expecting some nice pitta, sourdough or flat bread, instead I got strips of crispbread, which weren't particularly nice. The hummous was rather dull too, I only ate it as was very hungry. Still, we had a nice bottle of Tempranillo and the service was very good.

Over priced, bland roast. Roast chicken that doesn’t come with anything green on the plate… which is far to small to eat off. 3 bits of roast potato. 1 small bit of roast parsnip but if you like runny orange goo covering half the plate then you’re in like. Carrot and swede soup maybe? 4 anaemic stuffing balls that had no taste. Service was non existent. Staff looked bored. No “how is your meal” plates not cleared. Dirty pub. Look at the ceiling over the bar. Think I might skip this one next time.

Booked for Sunday lunch for 2.30 pm. Once seated we had to wait far too long before we were even offered drinks because the waitress was making coffees for another table and seemed to be the only staff member waiting on the big room at the rear. Then we we were finally able to order they were completely out of all roast dinners. And after that, the next table to arrive then left because they didn’t even have any burgers left. We don’t live in the area anymore and were out for a rare treat. We ended up spending a load of money on food we didn’t want. I wish we’d chosen somewhere else. Speisekarte ansehen

We used to love The Bull’s Head, but its interior is now no different from the ubiquitous stripped wood interiors of so many establishments. Noisy, pulsating early evening music prompted us to seek a quieter spot, so we ventured into a small courtyard which, for some very weird reason, was carpeted with astro turf the exterior was unkempt, dirty, leaves and some degree of rubbish on this turf and the gruesome sight of a very badly corroded, heavily rusted pipe above our heads didn’t improve the ambiance. I’ve given this place an “average” because the staff were very pleasant, but clearly improvement is necessary.

The restaurant has a great building with a nice interior, but it seems to be only good for having a pint, which is how we first discovered it. Despite their claims on the website, I would not recommend going there for the Sunday lunch as it was disappointing and took over an hour to be served. The staff seemed well-meaning, but lacked smiles and a genuine welcome. It felt as though they were not prepared for the amount of customers, even though the restaurant was not even half full. With better management and a good chef, this place has the potential to be successful due to its classic interior and great location by the river. However, at the moment, it falls short compared to the nearby pub...

Unfortunately, my reservation at another pub for my husband's 70th birthday lunch fell through (through no fault of the pub, just a miscommunication) and I was scrambling to find a new venue with only a few days to spare. Luckily, The Bull came through for us and managed to accommodate our party of 16 (including 3 young children). They have a beautiful space for family gatherings with plenty of room for mingling before our meal, which was wonderful.
