"I saw that this place had been given good reviews so I popped along at lunch time. It was About Which can mean a hostile reception in some French places to eat! A great restaurant in my opinion is not just about the food...it’s the ambiance and how you feel whilst there Well the food was perfect, I’d a lovely goats cheese salad followed by delicious Toulouse sausages and mash and a glass of wine. However it was the lovely feel to the place and the wonderful service I received which gives it the stars. I would thoroughly recommend and thank you!"

We had a lunch meal and the cassoulet was to die for! It was bubbling from the oven and the sauce was excellent! Very rich food! Polite staff!

Nice return to this place which in mid November was offering unbelievable mulled wine. Only a glass with a taste that puts what you typically pay double for at Christmas markets to shame. Friendly staff with some knowledge of English.

We always come here never disappoints lovely staff a litre of wine is and the food is always delicious the menu changes on a daily basis this place should go to place in Carcassone second only La Cathare for food (Cafe Comedie has a...better outside area to watch the world go by)

We walked around this part of town and loved the umbrellas which shaded us from the hot sun. We opted to have lunch here and were very pleased with the charming waitress. My daughter had spaghetti bolognaise and I had a salad, both were fresh...and tasty. We then had ice cream. My daughter opted for scoops of chocolate and I had scoop of lemon and scoop of lime! All were scrumptious!

This has been a family run business for decades. The warm greeting you get is only matched by the delightful food. Tucked away in the pedestrian only area, the theatre itself is showing Parapluies de Cherbourg' and there are dozens of umbrellas suspended high above...the tables which are placed on either side of the street. It's a great little spot just next to the parking Jacobin. Don't miss it if you are in Carcassonne.

Been driving past this place for years and finally made it. Plat du jour from the chalkboard included roasted fish in a burblanc sauce while my husband had the roasted on the bone lamb. Both excellent. Good pasta choices and the pizzas looked wonderful too....Just a cut above the rest with a beautiful flavor. Large outside dining space was difficult to enjoy if your a non-smoker because it's enclosed in a tent....very comfortable inside.

We came in for lunch and had a goats cheese salad and cassoulet- the food was so delicious and the atmosphere friendly that we decided to return for dinner the following night. We were welcomed back like old friends! Such a fantastic friendly staff. This...time we had French onion soup, salads to start and then cassoulet (the best in Carcassonne) and the veal special for mains. Fantastic food! This is my favourite restaurant in Carcassonne.

We have just dined here after scouring through lots of restaurants looking for the best cassoulet. We weren't disappointed. It's the first time we have had this dish and it won't be the last judging on the quality of the food served here. We had...the fixed price menu at which was excellent value considering the quality of the food and size of the portions. The service was really friendly and efficient enabling us to have a leisurely meal without having to catch the eye of the waiter for service. A carafe of wine was lovely at only

"Visited today for lunch after reading a recent review about the high quality of food on offer. We were not disappointed! It was superb. There were 3 choices on each of the courses with one vegan option on each course. I had chicken fricassie which was the most delicious chicken dish I've had for a very long time. The meat was so tender, it fell away from the bone; the mushroom sauce was deliciously tasty - it wasn't over seasoned. My OH had tofu wok which he really enjoyed. Both were served with rice and runner beans. The starter was a dish of 2 types of melon one of which was watermelon, with feta. We didn't think it sounded great but we were very wrong. It was served with a dash of vinaigrette made with a light oil, a tiny bit of honey and toasted flaked almonds and was surprisingly interesting. All the flavours worked so well together. For dessert OH had the cheese plate with 3 different types of cheese which he loved but it couldn't have been better than my raspberry Eaton mess which was particularly good as it wasn't overly sweet. All for €18 each AND it was all organic! We sat outside in the courtyard which was a very pleasant area. The ambiance throughout was of calm. No background music, no clattering noises or shouting from the kitchen area. It was a little oasis of refined lunchtime dining, The service was impeccable. The young man who served us was very impressive and able to tell us what ingredients were used in the vinaigrette. It goes without saying that the high standard of food and service were also reflected in the high levels of cleanliness throughout. We only wish we'd discovered this place sooner and will be back again as soon as I can trust the OH's arm"
