during an evening market they are children. good selection of drinks. good pizzas, decent steakfriten, ok Moule’s. service friendly if a bit chaotic on the market night.

Very friendly service! Nice and quiet place. I ate one of the best pizzas ever! They aren't vegetarian but you can ask to personalize your pizza. The vegetarian dish was also very good. They only use local products and biologically cultivated products. Speisekarte ansehen

If you have the pleasure of visiting Octon make sure you visit Cafe de la Place. It's not big it's not posh it's a typical French village bar/ restaurant. Good welcome, good service, good food. A very pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Woul highly recommend and will...be back every time I'm in the area.

A friendly welcome in this lovely little cafe in the square. The table d'hote menu only had a couple of choices but the effects steak with frites, salad and vegetables was very good. They brought a lovely Roquefort sauce in a separate dish and a...nice salad with Roquefort, parmesan and walnuts. Lovely staff and you can sit either inside or out.

We dined at Cafe de la Place twice and enjoyed both lunchtime and Thursday evening. Thursday evenings are particularly worth it as There is a food market in Octon on Thursday evenings and you can look across at the stalls it was busy...but we got a table okay they have extra fold down tables. The lunch time menu is mainly salad based dishes and in the evenings they also have a good Pizza Menu starting at about Speisekarte ansehen

octon is a very special village, in the midst of vineyards and terres rouges so distinctive around the lac du salagou. the cafe serves local people and workers who need a break when tap trees or clean up the village streets, but in the summer the cafe de la place is. a social center in the village square with a water fountain where the working horses refresh themselves! eating is good, the service excellent and good value for money

we came here and it was obvious that the kitchen was shut down after lunch service. despite this friendly waitress and the owner have made us both very welcome. they were extremely apologetic that everything she could offer was the plat du...Jour, who was a mixed meat and seafood lasagne. we were very happy to accept and it was excellent. they have also compiled an assault vegetarian for my partner and it was one of the best we have found on our different travels to France. highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant several times during our most recent visit to this area. We had a couple of lunches (one on Sunday) and dinner so I think i can give a well informed report about it. Having read some of the other reports I...find it difficult to believe they are talking about the same place. The food is what you would expect in a small bar/restaurant at the side of a square in a small village. The food is tasty has fresh ingredients is reasonably priced and there is plenty of it. The plat de jour is what's available fresh on that day as you would expect. The staff were pleasant and efficient on what was a busy period.
