We had a great dinner here. The dishes were creative. For example, the curried lentil main dish combined those 2 ingredients with cauliflower, cilantro, scallions and eggplant to make a tasty and filling dish. The cheeseburger and fries were also done nicely. The salads were fresh and flavorful. The service was a little slow and choppy (one dish ordered wrong and fries came after we were done with rest of meal), but the staff was gracious and friendly (the chef came out to apologize for the wrong dish). We would definitely come back.

Service stunk, waited over an hour for main entree super under staffed, mixed up one of our salad orders from a goat cheese salad to a chicken salad when that person was a vegetarian. Flagged down waiters to which they responded they didn't know where our food even though we saw our food waiting on counter. Food was above average but the service and the mistakes were too bad and too much to make our dinning experience from great to terrible. THE dirtiest bar I have seen in Amsterdam, and that is for Amsterdam standards so go figure! But it's a brown bar so gave it a chance.. till I ordered my first glass of (not very tasty) wine and immediately saw lipstick stains. Ordered for a new glass but got a nasty look from the barman, who didn't look friendly to begin with. The toilet was even nastier than the rest, decided to hold my pee. Also, should be noted, barman had to let us know that he only played dutch music.. bit old school for a touristic city? Altogether, dirty boring moody bar, will never go back and wouldn't recommend to young or old! Good thing is you have enough other good choices around! Amsterdam is amazing!

It's a real shame that such a nice, cozy cafe serves such mediocre food. While the staff is really nice the food was not up to our expectations. We asked the waiter which one was their signature item, and he said the burger, so we ordered it. While priced at 15€, they got everything wrong. The bread (normal bread, not a burger bun) was massive and oversized compared to the patty. The meat patty, also massive, was way overcooked and over seasoned. The burger only had the meat and some cheese and a very timid leaf of salad. No tomatoes, no onions, no pickles. The result is tasteless and over priced meal. I am sorry for the owners as the people there and the ambiance are really good and hopeful...

Loved this restaurant! European food can be a bit intimidating (especially while pregnant ‍ , but this trendy and intimate spot hosted a mixture of Dutch cuisine with an American flare. The service was attentive and friendly. Yelp definitely helped make our selection with the high rating and pictures, always helpful! We stayed at the American Hotel and it was a short walk to the location. I ordered the hamburger, as this was the last night of our euro vacation and I was craving some taste of home. It was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection and just juicy AF. Better than most burgers I've had in the states, and I've had my fair share!
