"This is Ischia, not Manhattan, so you 're not expecting or demanding crisp, prompt service of that big city type, though it does certainly exist on the island here and there alongside the more relaxed style you 're not surprised to encounter here. Well, Bar Calise staff have a style that shades from relaxed well into the glacial. And this despite being the largest such establishment right across the road from the ferry pier, with many customers trying to have their coffee and pastry before boarding the hover ferry or car ferry to Napoli or Pozzuoli. In the hotel business we used to talk about 'guest blind ' service staff whose super power was managing to walk through the restaurant or lobby full of guests and to look like they were on duty yet never manage to actually look any guest in the face thus avoiding the chance they could be stopped and asked to provide some service. Well, Bar Calise staff are masters of this, absolutely world class. So, by all means come here; the coffee and pastry are both quite good. But don 't try to do so without at least an hour 's time before your ferry departure. And whatever you do don 't try to flag down a waiter, or, heaven forbid, get out if your seat and try to convince one you 'd like to be served, OR to make the mistake of trying to get one of the servers to take your order rather than the single moustachioed, waist-coated order taker; any of these will simply slow things down more... As the waiter said when asked, I will come in due time...."

bars valid in ischia are a guarantee of quality for staff, service, quality of the products offered. Excellent ice creams, aperitifs etc. you can not stop, even just for a coffee.

Visited several times. Really good service, maybe a little slow, but it’s Ischia! Luciano always greeted us warmly and with a smile. Excellent cocktails and coffees. Delicious pastries. Couldn’t ask for more.

great, but high prices if you get the service at the table. three croissants, a coffee, a cold cappuccino and a fruit juice to the European fishing, I find it excessive even if sitting at a coffee table and also in front of a good service and the kindness of the staff. I do not find it correct that instead of adding a percentage for the service, the price of each piece is increased in a little justifiable way (e.g. a croup to euro. )
