Big little country restaurant! Since perfection doesn't exist, I put 4 stars, but seriously it deserves the 5 stars... Fine cuisine produced from the region and has a good price! She knows what she's talking about! I recommend it and good appetite

"Chez Francoise" offers a typical rural French dining or lunch experience. The atmosphere is welcoming albeit that the furniture feels outdated.The menu consists of typical regional dishes with a lot of suggestions on a separate menu.The food is good and honest with no fancy plate dressing.

We hadn't booked, but they a table. They did a menu découverte for €29 which consisted of starter, main course, cheese course and a fun gourmand dessert which was 3 small desserts. The waiter was charming and funny and the food good. The only course which we were a little disappointed with was the veal as there were no vegetables with it but they did sort of veggie cake things which were ok but a bit filling.

We were visiting Meymac house hunting and were looking for somewhere to eat one evening and came across Chez Francoise. Although we only have limited French we were able to get un table pour deux and had one of the set menus. Well cooked, great flavours although the duck in blueberry did cause our mouths to go blue!! Solved by rinsing with the local wine! The cheese board was enormous.A lovely environment for a great meal. If we do ever find a house we will definitely be back.

I expected more, given the reputation. There was my wife and me and ordered two menues at 35 euros. We had the following. Fois gras. Good quality. No mise en plat at all. Tournedos with truffle sauce. The meat was tender and the sauce ok, but two of of the three vegetable cakes were very poor. Again no mise en plat. Plate of cheese. This was abundant and good quality. Dessert: one scoop of glace (ok), the three other cakes were not of my taste. I can't say it was poor because it was not. But for sure I expected more for the whole experience...I mean food, mise en plat, atmosphere.

There was a blackboard outside with 2 menus advertised, one at 29 euros and one at 14 euros. We were a little late for lunch - 1.50 pm, but nowhere near evening. We were shown to a table then our host took the blackboard from inside the restaurant, rubbed something out before placing the board next to us. He had removed the 14 euro menu. We asked about it and received a shrug, so we left.The board was not changed outside when we drove past 10 minutes later.Why seat us if they didn't want to serve us, or only if we were prepared to pay twice the price? The attitude was condesending and unpleasant. We would have been happier if we had been told that we were too late for lunch, or that they had...
