lunch was simple, good and refined. the place is fairly calm and conducive to professional discussions. Service is good.

cared for by its owner, who acts as a maître, there I ate one of the best boeuf bourguignon of my life. the environment is also very pleasant. definitely, it's worth it.

very nice and professional service, traditional family cuisine dishes, you will find tastes unfortunately lost well served. dishes simmered and beautiful cheeses.Price not given but correct for quality. attention to the prices of wines .......

Just had a superb meal at Chez Rene - traditional French fare , with white linen but attentive service. Farm fresh melon to start, nicely done chicken, and fresh raspberries for dessert. Molly and I are not big eaters , so we asked to share plates - no problem. Speisekarte ansehen

Very nice dinner at Chez Rene, located on an energetic and convenient corner in the Latin Quarter. Everyone seems to come for the beef bourginione, which the four of us ordered, and were very well pleased. Large portions, with extra gravy brought to the table in a hot iron pot. And Daniel, our waiter, was friendly and entertaining. Would definitely return on our next trip to Paris.

The first thing I remember is that it was hot. The Paris heat wave. Still in the upper 30s (90s for us Americans). As with all but a very few, Chez Rene is "air conditioned" with a fan. Oh, well. But I digress....Chez Rene is everything I want in a Paris bistro. (Well, except for those times I want really haut cuisine & Michelin stars). This is really great cooking of the classics. You can find cheaper bistros that are not as good, but it is very fairly priced for the high quality.One of our friends is vegetarian, so, yes, it is friendly with several selections that will a vegetarian very happy. We had tomato appetizer, duck confit, several fish dishes, mousse au chocolate, white wine & red...

When we told our friends we had one day in Paris, everyone said this is a must visit. Actually, of all the places in Paris, this was the only one which every one agreed upon. The restaurant is located just a short walk from Norte Dame. We actually walked to Chez from the Gare du Nord train station.The wait staff was incredibly helpful and were able to speak English to help translate the menu. The cheese platter was wonderful and had wide variety of six cheeses. We also had duck, a chicken dish, and a beef dish. The portions of the food were huge except for the duck.
