"So sad. We had an incredible wedding reception here and wanted to pop back for a walk down memory lane. We were the only ones dining in a cold, quiet, dark and lonely dining area. Other customers apparently cancelled. Afternoon tea was very under whelming with dry scones, and medium quality sandwiches. Certainly not worth the £50 for effectively a sandwich and a few small cakes. The location itself is stunning so we had an enjoyable walk around the gardens. We had to find someone when we arrived, to say that we were here for afternoon tea and also had to find them at the end to pay. Just quite disappointing really. Summary is that this place is great for events (weddings and conferences… when the full service team are in, but they shouldn't pretend to deliver a premium afternoon tea to individuals as a side gig."

I was quite surprised by the selection at the price we paid. the desserts seemed to be out of the freezer, and the scones were not freshly baked.

most cakes/berries were soggy or dry. sandwiches limited. very expensive and disappointing. would not recommend. no decorations on the wall at all.

although the menu was different, what was advertised on the website, it was absolutely delicious. we had the vegan afternoon tea and would definitely go back. a really nice day.

Menu was poor not much choice only 3items on first 2courses and 2choices on pudding food poor quality very disappointed if I had been able to see menu online would never have booked table at Chicheley hall

Once we were finally allowed in, the food was good, and the younger waitstaff were friendly and attentive. However, the maitre d' really needs to reflect on his behavior and control his ego. We were seated in a private room, which, despite its beauty, lacked any ambiance. If I were considering this place as a wedding venue, I would have serious concerns about the ability of the person in charge.

The approach to Chicheley Hall was stunning but didn't find any directions of where to go so we wandered around until we found a waitress who was very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The savoury part of the afternoon tea was delicious, something a little bit different to sandwiches. The sweet part of the tea was not very enticing; there was too much cake. Something like a small potted dessert would have been better; less would have been a good option but better quality.

I was really disappointed that we were the only three guests booked, especially since I had specifically informed them in advance that none of us could eat fish, yet they still brought out three fish sandwiches. They had to take them back and start over. Additionally, when I arrived and paid, the new staff at the reception didn't see my payment, so I had to provide my receipt as proof. The service was quite poor, especially given that we were the only guests there. I won’t be returning.
