"We popped in for lunch after driving down from Fort William on a Friday. The place was quite busy, with no booths available so we took one of the centre tables, but the very MINUTE another guest left she moved us to a booth by the...window. The first menu we were handed was the lunch menu, which offers 3 courses for £8. But being from the Fort where there are 3 TERRIBLE chinese restaurant we asked or the full alacarte. I ordered salt pepper chicken wings for a starter, and the Seafood combo, and his fine self ordered the oriental chicken noodle soup and a beef curry withh fried riice. My wings came and the portions were so large I shared with him! He throughly enjoyed his soup woth the oriental egg noodles an got some wings as a bonus-lol!Shortly after the waitress advised me that the kitchen was out of scallops for my combo, but offered me extra others in it which was AMAZING. It came out with a surplus of big fat juicy prawns, squid and mussels in a sesame sauce garnished with an edible rice flower truly outstanding! His beef curry was devine also, the onions in it were thick and sweet, and the curry sauce was just spicy enough with a light cinnamon undertone.Needless to say, we both hit the clean plate club and had NO room for desert! YUM YUM YUM! PS I used to live not far from this restaurant and their take-aways are just as good as their sit downs Always a treat to visit here!"

I'd rather focus on the home delivery service than on restaurant diners. we had to wait 1.5 hours between starter and main courses. After we talked to graham, our food seemed wonderful. not impressed

Placed an order at 5.30pm on Father’s Day, knew it would be busy so asked how long it would be, was told. 1hr, after 2hours phoned and was told it was just going into the kitchen, cancelled order.. Will not use chimes again

During a recent trip to Loch Lomond, we chose to dine at Chimes based on reviews. We were not disappointed with our meals (Chicken Curry and Beef Curry.) They were very good and we even got a free garnish cracker, which was a nice surprise! The restaurant was busy on a Sunday night, but the staff were polite and welcoming when we arrived. We hope to dine at this restaurant again when we are back in Loch Lomond.

We had a very nice sit-in dinner at Chimes, following lifting of covid restrictions. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, and were shown to our seats right away. Service throughout the meal was fantastic. The food was very nice, but the chicken in my partner’s...satay was a bit tough (slightly overcooked. That said, it apparently tasted great. I can’t fault anything with my own meal chicken with green pepper in black bean sauce. We will be back at Chimes, and would definitely recommend.

We had a takeaway from Chimes as our local Chinese takeaway is closed due to Coronavirus. We were greeted warmly on arrival (services is always good at Chimes), and our order was ready very quickly. My partner had chicken satay, which she loved, and I...had a special chowmein which was nice (although the chicken meat was a bit dry). I also had a side order of mushrooms, which were lovely. We also shared a portion of salt and pepper chicken, which was also nice, but a bit saltier than we are used to. Portion sizes were good. Would definitely recommend Chimes.

It was an absolute treat! I'd never visited this restaurant before but had heard good things about it. I decided we would try it. Service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing. I had fried beef mushroom with fried rice the beef just melted...in my mouth gorgeous. Hubby had roast spring chicken regrettably the chicken was perhaps overcooked with the result it was stringy a bit tough. I had the lychees for dessert while my husband re-visited an old favourite Peach Melba which he declared was fabulous!! All in all, a very enjoyable visit it didn't cost the earth.

We placed our order around 6:25 PM. We called at 7:35 PM and were informed that our order had just been dispatched and would take an additional 20 minutes. After waiting for 1 hour and 40 minutes, we called again at 8:05 PM as our order still had not arrived. The staff member who answered was unhelpful and rude, informing us that everyone in the restaurant, including walk-in customers, was placing orders over the phone. We do not recommend ordering from this restaurant, as it took nearly 2 hours for our food to arrive. We regret not preparing a homemade meal instead, as it would have been much quicker.

We had a fantastic night with our family last night at Balloch. The staff was hardworking and friendly, providing excellent service. Our drink order was taken promptly, and we appreciated having a complimentary water on the table. The hot and tasty appetizers were all delicious, and there was a nice break before our outstanding mains arrived. We ordered so much food that the table was overflowing! I particularly enjoyed my Szechuan prawns - the shrimp were juicy and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. The food and drinks were reasonably priced, offering great value for money. We will definitely return to Balloch on our next visit.

"live before place and always used to go. was impressed twice recently and both males less than by service. the first time with two friends to lunch and we came and stood under the sign for about 10 minutes, which said to wait to sit. After we were not recognized, we chose our own table and set ourselves. we had to approach 15 minutes, we were just going. as usual, eating was great, which always seems easy to make for the service and convince us to give them another try. in the next week with another group of friends returned to dinner, I said to them, I wasn't thinking about as service was recently bad, but we couldn't get a reservation elsewhere and the others wanted to go here. When I arrived a few minutes after the rest, my friend said to me, she thinks they should have listened to me when the girl she was sitting was really rude. for the first half of our night was the girl that was with us, quite short, and I would say a bit of a bad attitude, very crisp. once smiled, barely looked up and almost bark asking about orders to us. After they left at a point table, we talked to each other, we should ask to speak to a manager, as you were terrible. whether she had overheard us or just had a heart change, it was like at night and day from then. so smiling and chatting and bending back to give good service. because they mask up and his hard to see faces I was really asking it was another girl who had taken over, but I'm 99 sure it was the same girl just a fresh job. as mentioned above, eating is always done very well to the kitchen staff. it's a shame that the service is just what he was earlier and out discussions with others I am definitiw not the only person who thinks that. lorimers has a real opportunity, as I think that the opposite has no good restaurants, so it's a shame that they let themselves down when I'm so often I would try differently before I book here."
