"Came across this bistro which is in a beautiful location. It was lunch time we fancied sitting in since it was pouring rain. Unfortunately the door was locked they were only serving takeaway from a hatch in the wall. There were 2 (pretty pricey) soup options advertised however we were surprised to be told they were both sold out! It was only about 1340 on a Sunday so we felt this was a bit strange as they’d obviously not prepared properly. We left feeling very disappointed. Won’t be back would recommend taking a picnic if you’re visiting Cramond as this place appears to be the only option for food in the area."

Beautiful setting, staff that are welcoming and quick, and the most amazing coffee! The perfect way to cap off a stroll around Cramond with friends.

Stopped here for lunch after a walk along the shore. Simple food, perfectly executed. We had Cullen skink and bagels which were absolutely delicious, all served with a smile. Will return!

This restaurant is not dog-friendly as they do not allow dogs inside. You will have to sit outside with a limited menu, regardless of the weather. It is recommended not to rely on old reviews.

Lovely spot to refuel after exploring the River Almond Walkway and Crammond village. We had the takeaway pastrami bagel and coffees. Excellent service, really tasty bagels, thoroughly recommend.

We visited the Cramond Bistro on a family day out. The lunch was perfect- the bagels merit an award themselves, imaginative fillings, great taste snd service with a smile. Piping hot lattes to accompany the food. We will be back thanks Cramond Bistro.

We arrived early and soaked! The lovely lady let us in whilst she was setting up, to let us dry off, and served us a lovely mug of hot coffee! We were so greatful we didn't have to drink it out in the rain, we were too cold to have their delicious scone or breakfast roll, but we've had them before and they were incredible Will be back.

Used to be a delight to visit for coffee and scones after a Saturday morning run … no longer . Not allowed to sit inside unless booked the previous day , have to queue to give order , try and find an outside table , and then be summoned to collect your coffee from a hatch with the wooden window bar preventing sight of the server. No longer any friendly interaction. Not cheap coffee , especially for the lack of service.

My husband and I have been frequenting this restaurant for many years. The quality of the coffee and food is consistently top-notch. The staff is always welcoming and accommodating. Even though we don't have a dog, it's nice that the restaurant is dog-friendly. As more people visit the Cramond area, the restaurant strives to cater to everyone's needs. However, with the high volume of customers, providing excellent service can be challenging. Despite this, the staff works diligently to provide the best customer service possible.

This is a unique family-run gem of a place, with stunning views over the forth to Dalmeny Estate and the Kingdom of Fife. The menu offers high quality freshly cooked homemade offerings for brunch, lunch and post-walk coffee and cake. You have to taste the Cullen skink, which is out of this world! And the giant scones and incredible millionaires shortbread are to die for. My daughter enjoyed a Scottish smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese. Thanks for the warm welcome, the seat inside to avoid the rain and the incredible lunch. A must for locals and tourists alike!

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
