Shame about the poor quality evening buffet. Nearly cooked sausage rolls, just warmed pizza pieces, dreadful sandwich selection. So easy to do better guys employ someone who cares. Rooms: 4 Service: 3 Location: 4

Spent a lovely couple of days here in the week. Decided to treat myself for my birthday. I enjoyed some wonderful meals, including an afternoon tea. Was a nice location, loved the building interior, unfortunately the rooms were cold. My partner tried talking to the receptionist but she was more interested in stroking someone's dog. Booked a romantic weekend in the old part of the hall. Room was nice but lots of dust on headboard, skirting boards and cobwebs above the bed. Also in Bath room tiles not cleaned throughly. Moths on complimentary robes and no slippers. Food was outstanding and lovely. Staff wete absolutely amazing. Rachel on reception was absolutely fantastic and could not do enough for us to make the stay any better. Bar staff friendly and very approachable especially Sarah the supervisor and Gemma who was wonderful and made us feel so welcome especially after a small drinks issue. Customer service is awful, our heating was not working in our room which the hotel knew upon our arrival but failed to tell us, when the room was freezing no one wanted to fix it and the receptionist bought a small manual heater up and was told nothing else could be done as the duty Manager was on the bar. No one wanted to sort our problem and not communicating with us was shocking! When checking out, l complained to which Emma offered me a full refund which I gladly agreed to. I then had an email a few days later saying we was basically lying and this did not happen and they won’t issue a full refund. They settled for a 50% refund. Stayed here for a spa break recently and the location was stunning. Driving up to such a grand building it makes you feel like a millionaire! Wasn't quite sure where the accessible entrance was (being a wheelchair user but the staff couldn't do enough and helped me to the room. Discovering the history of the building was easy enough, all accessible. I wanted to see the grounds at the back so one of the groundsman accompained me round (pulled me through the stones in my chair and continued to help where possible to make the experience special.
