"6 of my family and Hamish the Scotty visited The Culcheth Arms last night for a family get together. We had booked a table for six at 7pm, unfortunately some of the party were delayed so it was quite late when we all Sat down to eat. The staff were really very understanding and gave us time to peruse the menu without rushing us. Lots of lovely dishes on offer and a nice range of drinks available to choose from. When our meals arrived all were piping hot and well presented, the food tasted as good as it looked and all of us enjoyed our selected meals. Service was excellent, really pleasant and helpful staff made sure we enjoyed our experience, well done everyone and thank you from Hamish for making him so welcome."

All round lovely pub with good quality food. Only minor issue was the time the food took to arrive at the table.

Goid pub, always busy when we've visited, sometimes you have to wait a bit to get served. I'm not knocking the barstaff it's just very busy at times which is a good thing

Had a lovely Sunday roast. Not sure how they make the Yorkshire's but they were devine. Service was the best we have had in ages thanks to Rowena for making the the whole experience brilliant.

Went Wednesday early evening, sorry to say food wasn't good. All 4 of us didn't eat more than 25% of the meal and sent it back (the picture is what was sent back) fish was greasy, you can see how much bottom left under the fish with soggy batter, the chips were like rubber. Waitress was asked if it had been microwaved, assured not but I'm not convinced. Meal was offered for free. Not recommended.

Situated within the small town of Culcheth, this pub is easy to reach on foot or drive to (with its own, free, car park). If going for evening meal, it might be best to book ahead, but there is plenty of space if just popping in for a drink too. They often have a range of standard and guest beers, which adds interest. They often have real fires burning (they have two in each of the main rooms), which makes it lovely to sit by the fire on a cold, wet evening with a pint chatting with friends. Generally, the atmosphere has been friendly and relaxed when I have visited, making it a nice place to visit.

"Bill came to £145 for two people. This is the third time we have been to Mr Lous to try their “famous” lobster deal where you get a bottle of champagne with any 2pb Lobster which is only on Fridays. Each time we have been they have had NO lobster! Food we did order was extremely overpriced, dry and unpleasant. Duck spring rolls £7 hardly had any meat in them, just stuffed with a load of Veg. Honey Chicken £18 was basically 8 chicken nuggets on a plate with NO Sauce! We had to share the sauce from another main. Prawn toast £14 was awful! It is basically one piece of toast stuffed with more than the usual amount of Prawns. It was dry and taste was overwhelming with the amount of prawns stuffed in there. King Dum Po Chicken £24 calamari £4 £28 total for a main without any rice or chips! You could tell they reduced the portion size just to add the Calamari. Portion was mainly veg with little meat. AGAIN! Tried to order drinks with the porter who brings food to the table which he said he’ll get a staff member to come over. 15 minutes later no one came. I had my meal with no drink. We was in the booth right next to the bar so I had to go up and order it myself. Cocktail took another 10 minutes to come. Drinks were overpriced due to the lack of complimentary champagne with the lobster which we called and was assured they would have on! . Service was extremely slow, waited 20 minutes to get a waiters attention to pay the bill. You could spot way off who the owner was as she was stomping around the restaurant piercing looks at the staff. The concept of this restaurant is amazing, But the delivery on service, food, affordability and customer service have been compromised by its former reputation which once held this establishment in such a high pedestal. Now, it seems it’s got more expensive without any improvement on its service. It is the kind of restaurant you try once just for experience, but retention of customers is defiantly an issue this restaurant faces. Restaurant itself was designed with a gorgeous interior with good lighting. But, I wouldn’t be deceived."
