"My husband and I had our first visit to Darcy's after a recommendation from friends. The Christmas menu offered variety but small enough to reassure that these guys put some thought into their food. Cocktails were perfect, the food is like traditional home cooked food...but cooked by professionals. We had curried parsnip soup, pate and breads, turkey ham, chicken supreme, pavlova and steamed ginger pudding. It's not French fine dining but it is heart-warming, Irish comforting food that showcases local produce. The service was also professional. Lovely atmosphere too. We will certainly be back!"

I visited Darcy's last night I was hugely impressed. From the professionalism courtesy of Michael on the phone, I knew that I was making a good choice. The pate was small but delicious. The steak

Visited Darcy’s as it was one of the blogs while I was searching for a place to have dinner in Belfast city centre. Went there for dinner and had seafood chowder- the food is great and the atmosphere is good. I haven’t tried the other...menu but it looks good. It can be busy in the evenings.

Visited here twice now, both times the food and service have been fantastic. Great variety on the menu and unlike most restaurants that offer such a range they don't fall on the quality whatsoever. Even managed to impress Dad with the mussels who's had them...numerous times all across France. Highly recommended.

My husband and I went to this restaurant tonight and I can confidently say it was the best dining experience I've had in a while!! The food was amazing and the service was excellent as well!! The lemon cocktail was delicious and a must-try!!! I will definitely be returning, it was such a lovely evening, thank you.

After being recommended by a colleague, a group of four of us visited this restaurant (visiting from Liverpool). I have to say, the food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thank you for taking care of us, guys. We will definitely be back at some point!

The food at this restaurant was delicious and served promptly. However, I wouldn't return due to the rudeness of one staff member. Upon entering, he impatiently told us to close the door quickly to avoid complaints. He also forgot a drink and responded sarcastically when reminded. It's unfortunate that despite the tasty food, the poor service tainted the overall experience.

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."

"I'm an American. I was invited to work at the queen’s university in a global conference. my airline has moved my baggage, so I stopped in the barking dog to use her wlan to check the status of my baggage and have a drink and a snack with my associate who has unusual allergies. the menu had nothing to call us, so we have decided to finish and move only our drinks./ at no point has anyone informed that it is illegal to have only drinks, and our server ran our review without mentioning any legal requirements. After I paid, someone who I suspect, the manager, came to the table and checked our reception. exactly what I thought was what they said before they cheated on me how it is illegal to buy drinks in a restaurant without eating. I apologised and explained that I had no warning. I offered to buy food retroactive and they refused. then they repeated that I was in a restaurant and not in a pub and that my activities were illegal. they denied my multiple attempts to apologise me while I explained that I am not out of the opposite. this experience was very confusing for me, because the night before me had drinks in a restaurant without food and it was no problem. in any case I was told that there is no such law and that the ordering of drinks without eating in a restaurant is very common. I've never been treated so badly in a customer service dynamic and I'm not sure why this happened. I feel targeted and totally mistreated for what does not seem to be a good reason. To finish it, it was my birthday. complete error in the name of what this person was. I will say the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating."
