"When the restaurant up the road (Vernon Arms) denied all knowledge of our booking for 9 people, made more than a month earlier, the Eagle and Sun pulled out all the stops to fit our party in on Saturday night, welcoming us with crackers and friendly service. Our food was plentiful and delicious, the service excellent and even when we accidentally left a cracker too close to a candle and set it on fire there was no drama, just jokes. The bill was a pleasant surprise excellent value and what could have been a disastrous evening turned into a very pleasurable one. They even provided foul to take lectovers home for our dogs. Well done all at The Eagle and Son. We’ll be back!"
