El Cartel - Speisekarte

Absolutely zero flavor to their food. Tried this place based on other reviews and I have been terribly disappointed. We tried three different kinds and they all had zero taste. I would have been better off not eating tonight.

i recently visited El cartel in edinburgh. The food (I had chicken tacos) was amazing the best tacos ive had in the last 10 years... incredible... almost.... the staff were bordering on rude and i wouldnt return just becuase of this.

I have to say, this is one of the best dinners I’ve had in a long while. Every single dish i ordered was amazing and staff was incredibly kind and helpful. They deserve all the best reviews and i hope i will come back here again soon! Speisekarte ansehen

The frozen cocktails at this restaurant are fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and provided helpful recommendations for ordering food. We tried a variety of tapas dishes, all of which were delicious, and the frozen margaritas were especially impressive. We finished off the night with a round of tequila shots. Overall, it was a great evening.

Fantastic tacos, outstanding view! I wanted to try them on, but ended up with the pork carnitas, marinated steak, and the cod tacos. Fantastic! I walked in alone just before 1 PM, and the place was empty. I have no idea why. Maybe because it’s a little off the beaten path? Maybe the rain and closed umbrellas outside. The country music soundtrack? Based on the quality of the food, this place should be full, and I’m glad it isn’t!

If you like Mexican food then El Cartel is a must. The margaritas are excellent and the food sensational. The ox tongue tacos are an absolute wonder and a must to try, I can’t tell you how good they are. The chicken wings are also delicious, to be fair everything we ordered was a taste sensation. The staff are friendly, attentive but not overbearing and are really professional. My friend and I like El cartel so much we’ve been several times in the last few months for lunch. Came here with a friend who spent a year living in Mexico and she rated this the best Mexican street food place she has found outside of Latin America. Excellent tacos as a vegetarian, I especially loved the smoked courgette and great margaritas. Lovely attentive staff even though it was very busy. The one downside was the cheesy 70s music but it didn't detract from our evening. We ordered pretty much one of everything to share and it was all great shout out to the street corn as well!

The restaurant staff at this lovely restaurant were friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, I must say that this was the worst Mexican meal I have ever had, despite receiving many recommendations from friends. The food was bland and lacked any spice or flavor. The lamb tacos and potatoes were the only standout dishes. Additionally, I did not enjoy the taste, texture, or thickness of the tortillas. However, the cocktails were good, so I would recommend going for a drink. This restaurant is great for those who do not enjoy spicy food.

The courtyard and view at this restaurant are nice, and the waitress Freya was very pleasant. However, the Mexican food here is possibly the worst I have ever tasted. It was awful and tasteless. Additionally, you have to pay £1 for a small amount of salsa that is also tasteless. We ordered four tacos (chicken, pork, beef, and aubergine), a prawn salad, an orange salad, and another meal that I cannot remember. All of the food was disgusting. There are many good restaurants in Edinburgh, so I would recommend avoiding this one. Both of us felt sick after eating here, and if I had the energy, I would have asked to speak to the manager about how bad the food was. Speisekarte ansehen
