Lovely little place! Very warm inside we will be back.. great to be able to park here too bows on the door are a lovely festive touch

Excellent Sunday roast cannot find any fault at all mouthwatering and classy. Staff very friendly , service on the money and food quality will be back!

Stopped on the way home and had the best pint of Harvey’s for a long time as my local can’t look after it properly. Well done the publicans here!! 5 stars Speisekarte ansehen

The meal was very delicious with good service and a great ambiance. The only downside was that the toilets were very cold, with the radiator not working. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our lunch and thank you for a pleasant experience.

The food at this charming old country pub is excellent, with a warm atmosphere to match. The young staff were both friendly and efficient. We plan on returning on a Sunday to see if the roast dinner is as plentiful and delicious as the daily menu.

The pub is friendly and cosy, but the food is lacking. I went for Sunday lunch and chose the fish and chips instead of the roast. The dish looked appetizing with crispy batter, but the cod was dry and bland, and crumbled instead of flaking. The rest of my party's roasts were just "OK, nothing special." Speisekarte ansehen

Lovely pub, friendly host, nice garden, good beer and the BEST fish and chips I have ever had. Exactly as they should be; chips fluffy inside and crisp outside, the batter light and crisp and not oily and a very decent size piece of fish cooked to perfection. We are back in Lamberhurst next May and the Elephant's Head is top of list for somewhere to eat

I have been going to the Ele for over 25 years. I have seen all manor of landlords and managers and thought that the latest were doing a good job....until we had lunch there the other week. My daughter ordered the potato Gnocchi and when it came, most of it was not cooked and hard lumps. Some of it was cooked so she ate what she could but left around 3/4 of the dish. When I mentioned this as i paid and quietly asked if they would remove the dish from my bill, the landlord came out the kitchen and said No she 's eaten most of it . That was obviously not the case and his tone and look was so rude and aggressive. I simply said we would not be returning to the pub. Considering i spend around £20...

We booked after looking at the reviews and had driven past a few times and it looked lovely. When we arrived the initial pub itself is lovely, and looks cosy. When we walked in we let the bar staff know we had a table booked for dinner and the bar man said ‘sit anywhere’ we looked around and none of the tables were set for dinner or even reserved, it felt very informal. We awkwardly chose an empty table (with regular drinkers standing around everywhere and sat down. We weren’t offered any menus, nor were we told if it was table service or self service. (Either is fine, we just didn’t know! Eventually we went up to the bar and ordered drinks. Still no offer of menus… I walked over to the end... Speisekarte ansehen
