Ferme de la Rançonnière

While staying at the hotel, we ate in the restaurant twice. The food is excellent! Great entrees, desserts and of course, cheese!

The food was delicious and they looked after our children very well. Our only regret was that we didn't stay there - as we could then have enjoyed the wine list too. Speisekarte ansehen

The food here was good but the service was extremely slow, almost nonexistent. We had to ask multiple times for coffee and dessert was so slow that I finally told the waiter to forget it and it suddenly appeared. Definitely not worth the price.

alles was er schitterend, zowel het verblijf zelf, als de kamers, de vriendelijkheid van het personeel en de zaakvoerders. wie rust zoekt vind het daar. wil je iets meer actie dan kan je er fietsen huren of de omgeving gaan verkennen, de kust ligt op ongeveer 6 km

This is a nice place, there is the hotel with bar and restaurant and 600 m further another part with rooms. The environment is rural, nice and quiet. It is a bit overpriced, the rooms as well as the restaurant. They try to do their best but some staff is certainly not motivated to serve or help customers. Rooms and restaurant are clean. We did not stay at the hotel, just went for dinner. They seemed to be out in the middle of nowhere, but it was in a lovely country setting. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak. I loved the sauce in my vegetable pot with puff pastry top. For dessert, I had the profiteroles. The were served with orange slices and warm chocolate sauce. They were the best profiteroles ever!

We were brought here for lunch as part of an excursion to the D-day beaches off a P&O cruise. It was a good choice and the food and drink were far better than we imagined it would be. As we were a large group being served a set menu we didn't really interact a great deal with the staff, but they efficiently served the meal and it was tasty and attractively presented. We all found the loos a bit alarming as they were unisex and there were two stalls and a urinal in the corner, perhaps this is the norm in France, I don't know, my experience of the country is very limited. Anyway, we just got on with it in the British way, had a bit of a giggle about it and no one was traumatised!

We had three nights here eating from the terroir menu and whilst the food was good it was nothing outstanding. The setting is absolutely beautiful and to sit outside before the meal with a lovely aperitif was very special. Sadly we were not made to feel special by the typically haughty and customer service averse local waiting staff. Everything was too much trouble for one particular waiter who from the very outset was particularly annoyed with us for arriving with a 20 month baby. The Manoir du Mathan (its sister hotel) had booked a table for 6 but we had a little one technically making 7. This was of particular annoyance to said waiter who proceeded to blame us and take umbrage even though... Speisekarte ansehen
