Oscar Wilde, Orson Welles, Vivienne Leigh all have enjoyed this establishment's offerings so it must had something going for it back then and the ptesent day staff are also courteous, helpful and service is with a smile. nice friendly bar. stopped on Saturday afternoon and was welcomed by very pleasant staff who were interested in talks and make sure a nice atmosphere to enjoy a great pint (the many iondon pubs did not have ... gay quiet staff not interested! . would definitely call again if in the opposite liquid sunshine ale was delicious

What a find, I did the vitality family run on the Mall and fancied a quick bite to eat and a cheeky pint after. Found the golden lion and couldn't recommend it enough. Only issue is they don't have a kids menu (with its location it's not surprising as more city pub than family oriented) but there's plenty of small bites for smaller appetites.
