The place is all right and the food also apart from the onion rings very very faty.such à shame, rest was nice and staff is ok

Very good standard fish&chips (cod) Good atmosphere, good service. Very plain and simple but very good. Could easily go here again to have a good meal.

Beautiful fish and chips but you need to watch the bill. They add service but if you don’t know that when you pay and you add it they take it twice And it’s on the balance that includes service. Beware.

Had a great meal on a Friday night before going to a concert. The staff were really attentive without being pushy. We enjoyed the meal and lovely that the fish and chips are cooked fresh to order. No hesitation in recommending. Speisekarte ansehen

After reading hearing good reviews about this Chip shop we thought we would try a take away from there. When we ordered we were told no pies you had to pre order that morning. We went for battered sausages chips. How disappointing the chips were dry scabby.not edible. The battered sausages were also horrible cheap pink sausages cooked in a pale batter. Not worth the money. The packing was the only nice thing that came from this chip shop. Over priced for poor quality food. Avoid

we wanted to get some fish and chips but also wanted a place that wasn’t greasy and also offered alternatives so looked online and found Golden Union. It’s a relatively small place so there’s a wait but the service is pretty quick. we got the fist bits plus chips, battered halloumi and chips, a bread roll and gravy. the batter on fish and halloumi were really good and not greasy at all. the taste was good if not a bit bland the gravy we got on the side definitely helped! the chips were average. portion size was really good as fish bites were really plentiful. the bread was extra and was basically a regular bun with lots of butter. overall a nice place to get good fish and chips and other!

I used to eat here a lot because the quality and freshness was good. I ate here recently. The food here is very expensive but I don’t mind paying if quality is there, but sadly standards have slipped. It was quite slow service, and when the food arrived, the fish was good, the mushy peas were cold and the chips were very poor. The chips had a strange taste. They are either cutting corners now and buying in chips that are pre-peeled and cut, rather than being properly prepared from scratch that day in the kitchen, (processed and not what a proper chip shop chip should be) or they had a bad batch of potatoes.
