"I literally live next door to a sandwich shop in Thornton and I walk 10 minutes out of my way to get sandwiches from Rations bc next door is so awful and because Rations are always sublime. The bread is not only fresh but its wonderfully soft, The Ham is such good quality. The people who run it are always polite and super friendly and nothing is to much trouble. It really is so nice to have somewhere like Rations in the area. After living away from the north west for a while i noticed when i returned that the quality and standard of catering based businesses were alarmingly poor. Rations is a most welcome addition to this little village, we desperately needed a great little sandwich shop! Ps. I also read the singular poor review and clicked on Matthews other reviews, i think he's either the awful baker next door or obviously a product of his environment which is as poor as the review he left. He actually reviewed a kebab shop (dog meat) and Thornton lodge (frozen microwaved everything, i know bc i worked there briefly) and said it was excellent... lol!"

"Have been here a couple of times for a cuppa, but this time we decided to book a table for lunch. There was an excellent range of fish dishes on offer, so my hubby and I had the grilled plaice which was nicely cooked nice to have the option of potatoes and veg accompanying the meal, rather than the ubiquitous chips and peas though these were also an option, should you prefer them (my son opted for these with his scampi). There was also the alternative of having a mixed salad as an accompaniment my mother in law went for this option with her sea bass, and the salad looked really fresh and delicious. We didn’t stay for dessert, but the homemade puddings looked incredible, and portions very generous! It was very busy by 1pm, so I would recommend booking a table if you’re coming for lunch."

"Four of us were on our first ever visit to Fleetwood, came by tram from Blackpool, staying over to see Billy Ocean in concert. We called into the Royal Cafe, for cup of tea, a scone and maybe a waffle! We ended up having a three course Sunday lunch, wine, and buying freshly made scones! The starter of vegetable soup was delicious, and the Roast beef dinner, followed by a very tasty and comforting rice pudding, all homemade, very good value for money too. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, despite all the tables looking full already. Just had the scones today with jam and clotted cream and they were lovely. If ever you're in Fleetwood, I would definitely recommend a visit here, open on weekends but well worth it. Thank you!"

"I recently visited Knott End with a friend and we popped into a café for a meal. The café was clean, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was freshly cooked to order and delicious. I ordered a hot baguette with roast beef and onion gravy, which had generous portions and was very enjoyable. My friend had the fish and chips, which she also enjoyed. The prices were fair for the quality of food we received. We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes. Outside the café, there is a lovely statue dedicated to L.S. Lowery, and there is also a ferry that goes to Fleetwood at a reasonable price. Next time we visit, we will be sure to try the ferry as well."
