Absolutely sublime food served by a welcoming and friendly team. The homemade pickles with the poppadoms include a beetroot pickle and curried pineapple, both of which are beautiful. The lamb Rogan Josh served with rice, Bombay aloo and dhal work together perfectly with no element overpowering another. The naans are light and fresh and not swamped in oil as some can be.

Service was really good but the food was quite bland but very spicy to cover for a lack of other flavour. I don’t mind a bit of heat but we chose the least spicy options on a very limited menu. Chicken came with bones in, which can happen but one piece was a large sharp piece of bone that really should have been spotted. Portions are also very small for very high prices.

Wonderful little restaurant. Slightly unusual for an Indian restaurant (in my experience) for having a very short menu that changes frequently. Dishes feel very authentic, not generic. We shared a mixed platter starter, followed by butter chicken and lamb rogan mains. Both main dishes included rice plus individual servings of daal and aloo. Service was also excellent, staff seem to really care about their customers. Casual, unpretentious decor makes for a relaxed experience. Definitely recommended. Speisekarte ansehen

Six of us had travelled up from Devon for a day out and had read about this lovely little restaurant so thought we'd try it. We received a very nice welcome and seen to our seats, the service was very friendly and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious and we didn't ever feel rushed. nNot a huge menu but they had, they certainly knew how to cook.. We had a mix of Lamg Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken and everyone ate the lot with great enjoyment... We would all thoroughly recommend a visit to this Indian restaurant if you're in Taunton. I recently dined at this fantastic Indian restaurant in Taunton and was thoroughly impressed. Authentic Indian cuisine, crafted by a talented chef, had a perfect balance of spices. I especially loved the homemade pickles, which were full of flavors, with the pineapple pickle being an absolute standout. The concept of serving Thali fascinated me and portion size is great. We enjoyed lamb curry for the main course and Maachi Amritsari for starters, would highly recommended it. Wow, we can’t belief the last review! We’ve been eating at Guddi and Gikki’s for five or six years and have probably clocked up over 120 meals between the two of us. Mostly as a couple, but also family/friends’ get togethers. Never a bad meal, always great service, and as a vegetarian and vegan couple, we have always felt that we have been considerately accommodated with choice. No surprise then that our vegan and vegetarian friends and family also rate it highly. It’s by no means overpriced, and the cost properly reflects the high quality of the menu.
