What a lovely cafe, so friendly and welcoming, and food was delicious. Menu varied with a great choice of traditional and more unusual. Highly recommend.

Lovely tea room, great painted furniture, the service was excellent. We tried the oatcakes, bacon and cheese, and poached eggs with spinach. Delicious Very friendly waiter. I'd recommend.

We only stopped by after a long walk for some cake and coffee. The homemade cakes were delicious and presented beautifully. Next time we visit Tideswell, we will likely sample the main menu. Speisekarte ansehen

My wife and I had breakfast here today. The full breakfast was outstanding and really tasty. Good friend bread and quality bacon and sausages. My wife had the avocado and scrambled egg which was delicious served in a lovely crusty bread. Great value and very tasty. Don't miss out!

We recently got a last-minute Caribbean takeout from this restaurant. We walked in, placed our order, and it was ready in just 15 minutes! The food was incredibly tasty, we had the jerk chicken, coconut prawns, sweet potatoes, and plantains. We highly recommend this place, as the food was not greasy, but fresh and delicious. Thank you!

I visited H&Ds tonight for their Mexican themed evening. This is one of my favorite menu offerings. Chef Howard really impressed me with the delicious Mexican food he prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, as always. We remembered to bring our own Sol beer, even though the restaurant is now licensed. Whilst holidaying in lovely Tideswell, we stumbled in here on our way back to the cottage after a few drinks and placed an order for takeaway pizzas, the staff and the chef were so incredibly friendly and accommodating even though the Bistro was closed for a private function. The pizza was honestly the best with a fresh base and generous toppings , they had a deal on for two pizzas of the same size so we went bigger and ate the delicious left overs the next day, it still tasted amazing and fresh. We then booked in for the Saturday night Spanish themed Tapas which was again some of the best food we've ever tasted! We were not alone on this with other diners too commenting also at how tasty it...

Having spent the whole week on holiday with our base in the village Tideswell, we didn’t manage to come to H D Bistro for an evening meal, which was something I had researched before we arrived and was hoping to enjoy. However, needing to be out of our cottage by 10:00am on the Friday, my wife suggested that we have a ‘going home treat’ and have our breakfast here before we set off home. Simply put…it was a treat. We were waiting for the 9:30am opening and both had a really lovely breakfast sat outside. The young lady who opened up made us feel really welcome and as she was setting up and wiping our tables etc. before we’d ordered, it was nice to sit there and chat to another member of staff...

The menu is'nt enormous as you would find in most take aways but there's a decent choice. I ordered the crispy chicken in sweet and sour sauce. The sauce was far too spicy for my partners liking and she couldn't eat it all. I found it very hot too. I'd suggest that they put a warning on the intensity unless this dish came out different to what you would normally do. The beef, chicken and prawn fried rice could have done with the meat fried with the rice, it looked like they were cooked separately and just thrown in at the end. Prawn crackers were amazing, very nice and very fresh, the best I've ever had! The chips were delicious, nicely cooked and not the usual Chinese style chip. The curry... Speisekarte ansehen
