"Delicious and huge portions. Hurray finally a Korean BBQ that serves generous portion sizes. We ordered one of the set bbq options which came with a tofu salad (yummy) and also ordered the kimchi seafood soup. The meat was cooked in front of us on the bbq grill and tasted splendid! I was also very impressed with the amount of soup we got. The bowl size is considerably bigger than the Korean restaurants in central London. The decor of the restaurant is nice. There's plently of space and not too many tables meaning that diners are not squashed together and have some privacy! My only criticism is the slow service (not due to the staff themselves but the lack of staff). When we went there were only 2 waitresses serving the entire restaurant they had to serve drinks, cook the bbq meat along with other requests which meant waiting for our drinks and the bill took awhile. I also hear it gets quite busy here (unsurprising considering the quality of the food) so be sure to book before you visit!"

New Malden is the unofficial Korean town in London, you can find plenty of traditional Korean restaurants over there and Han is one the most popular one due to the prime location (next to the rail station) and its karaoke lounge.

great fun for karaoke and sometimes the cocktails are very good, I say sometimes because I have been servale times and I would say I had a few days. but a solid 4 because I had more good days than bad. Eat is delicious. the personal is helpful.

Extremely unique interior. We didn't know we needed to make a reservation but nevertheless they managed to seat us somewhere. I would definitely recommend booking a table so you can have access to ordered the Korean bbq menu options. The service was good, however my friends food took so long to come about 30 minutes from the time mine arrived. We alerted the staff and they apologized and took away the service fee from the bill. This is a place I would definitely come to again to have the full experience of the karaoke and Korean bbq options.

If you fancy going back into time and eat like a king/queen of South Korea This is your chance. Han is a beautiful restaurant in New Malden (South Korea Town) of London. The restaurant has exquisite wooden interiors and even better food to match it's cultural grandeur. We tried their Mandu, Kanpoongi, Kimchi and Soju and beer cocktails which were mind blowing! We then went in for Dak and Pork Belly bulgogi on BBQ which was fantastic. We then tried Chicken and Tofu Bibimbap which were very different from what other restaurants in the area have to offer. Wicked place! Must try if you are a group of people looking for a good dining experience.

I often travel to New Malden just to eat some seriously good Korean food. Han karaoke is conveniently located minutes away from the rail station. The exterior bears a traditional ancient wooden style. Inside it’s built like a labyrinth with areas to uncover, the basement has state of the art karaoke rooms. Han Karaoke The man outside lured us in, claiming to be the best Korean restaurant in Surrey. It was around midday, and the server already recommended the alcoholic cocktails. Each table had an in built hot stove BBQ set. My friend and I went for cooked mains and starters to share. han kimchi pancake The kimchi pancake was a true beauty. Nice and crispy on the exterior with enough flavours...

If you are a huge barbeque fan, and miss the fun of BBQ in winters, han is an excellent place. We started with Soju and beer, the combination tasted nice. We went for Mul Mandu(dumplings), Kanpoongi(batter fried chicken with garlic) both were very good. We loved Kanpoongi so much that we ordered it twice. Then we moved on to the barbeque and tried the Dak Bulgogi (chicken) and Dwaeji Bulgogi (pork belly). The experience of barbequeing meat on your own was so satisfying. The pork belly was best tasting. Finally, your Korean food experience is not complete if you don't try the Bibimbab. It is very comforting and tasty. We shared one Bibimbab amongst two people after all the starters and meat....

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
