I had Tom kerridges fish and chips at restaurant £37. Wow I thought extremely expensive , I don't know where he gets his prices from and it was just average . Southend seafront was much better at a tenner. Parking: Not very good Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

Exceptional experience visiting The Hand and Flowers. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We stayed over in one of The Cottages, and the level of comfort and thought that went into the decor and amenities was worthy of 2 stars . The food, well, everything was delicious, and as it was my birthday, they added some extra little touches. It was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely visit again. Speisekarte ansehen

Sad to say we left disappointed. The drinks were lovely and the service was also good, but the food was just not that good. All three courses were far too rich and nothing that great, my main was too salty and the risotto was quite strange and runny. Both me and my husband left feeling pretty sick because it was just all too rich to stomach. The best part of the whole meal was the sourdough bread at the start and the rest was really just average. We both felt we’ve had better meals in the past at gastropubs for half the price and to be honest for a two star Michelin restaurant and with the overall cost, it should leave you feeling blown away and unfortunately this fell well short of that.

As part of a group of six for a mid week visit for dinner we left this restaurant feeling disappointed and utterly underwhelmed. Upon arrival nobody asked if we wanted to have our coats stored and we were ushered away from the bar where we wanted to have a pre-dinner drink. We were given one menu on a tablet between six people. In fairness one of our party has severe allergy issues and was presented with a special menu prepared for them...that was a lovely touch..but then again this is supposed to be a Two Michelin star establishment so you might expect that.
