"We’ve visited the Hawarden Estate Farm shop on two occasions now and loved spending time there. The shop in which you enter is lovely and the coziness of the fire in the restaurant is so nice even in the summer! However be warned you will end up smelling like smoke! We brought our daughter to the little growers club and had a fantastic time! The two gentleman running it were so knowledgeable and really let our daughter get stuck in! We picked loads of fruit and veg that we got to take home and planted a few plants! We also did the trail which was lovely to explore the estate a bit more. The second visit We went to the forage and make class hosted by Mia and it was fab! We made nature Wands and crowns and Mia was so lovely, our daughter absolutely loved it. Was so nice to get outside exploring and then get creative! I would say the only downfall of the place is the pricing of the food. Everything is organic and grown there however it is very steep in price. The food has been enjoyable but just expensive. The Apple juice is freshly squeezed and is lush but again, expensive! Def would recommend a visit here though, loads of activities, exploring, and fruit picking to be done!"

I waited for 20 minutes without being served, even though people who arrived after me were served. Despite waiting for another 20 minutes, I was still ignored. When I informed the cashier about the issue, no attempt was made to address the situation.

This place used to serve amazing food for lunch, sadly, no more. The menu is extremely limited and the food we did eat was over cooked and over priced with tepid coffee and a 1/2 hour wait. Very disappointed, we will not return and would not recommend it.

Today was a delight. Harden open day to the Castle Tower after climbing to see the fabulous view from the top it gave us an appetite so we had tea and lovely home made teacakes in the Farm Shop We noticed that they had Delicatessen counter so we bought two meat pies to take home best thing we had EVER had WOW EXCEPTIONAL.

Making a visit having not been for several months and hoping for an improved experience. Slowish table service, impassive check out, loud intrusive music, very little local produce in the shop. Overall a fairly underwhelming visit...again. The coffee and brownies were good though but will leave it several months before returning, if ever.

We are locals and used to love coming to the farm shop. We visited yesterday with family but left before ordering, the food is overpriced and the log fire burning is terrible even though it’s outside the smell fills the indoor area. I’m not sure who wants to eat brunch with the smell of wood burning lingering! We were only there a short time and could smell the smoke on our clothing once back in the car.

Ordered a salad which I appreciate was a Greek salad but was full of inedible large chunks of cucumber , cheap lettuce and only the tomato that had any taste It came with about 6 slivers of flatbread and a small amount of smoked trout , at £14 definitely overpriced My daughters aubergine flatbread was of equal poor quality and quantity I did complain and she knocked the price of the smoked trout £4) off the bill of £36 Have enjoyed good breakfast there in the past Certainly won’t be back based on the quality price

Felt compelled to write a review after reading a couple of recent negative reviews. If you enjoy a frozen Asda pizza, this isn’t the place for you. The farm shop is beautiful and a breath of fresh air for the area. The food is delicious, of exceptional quality and the service is great. Always greeted with a smile and served quickly. The pizzas are lovely, thin base, soft dough and quality ingredients. The cakes are also outstanding best jam and cream doughnut I’ve ever eaten. Well worth a trip and great for kids. My one year old is always welcomed with a smile and the kids menu is great too. Big field for kids to run around and a play area with a fun trail around the camp site.

We live nearby and decided to finally try this restaurant after 11 years. We had always assumed it was a fancy, upscale establishment, but we were in for a surprise. Upon arrival with our two small chihuahuas, we were greeted by what appeared to be a charming campsite setting with an outdoor kitchen and bar. However, our excitement quickly faded when we realized the reality of the situation. The campfire was more like a smoke screen, and the pizza we ordered was overpriced and burnt around the edges, with very little toppings in the center. The beer was served in a small glass that did not contain the advertised volume, and the service was slow. It was clear that this place did not have regu...

We stopped at the farm shop/cafe on our way back from staying at Poultry Cottage near Powys. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly lady who explained the setup and took our order. The food was fantastic - I opted for the salt beef hash with grilled egg for breakfast, a unique but delicious choice. The dish consisted of salted pulled beef, onion, spinach, crispy new potatoes, and a perfectly cooked egg on top. Although the portion was very generous, I sadly couldn't finish it all. My husband raved about his bacon sandwich, claiming it was the best he had ever tasted. We enjoyed a lovely cup of tea made with real tea leaves, which was a nice touch. We also purchased some cheese and tomat...

"Went for a drive Father's day and ended up having a meal here, we rang and luckily got a table for 7pm. On entry to the Celtic Arms it was a high walled gated area with absolutely beautiful gardens which went on for some considerable area, it is a golf club as well and a beautiful golf course with golf buggies opposite the restaurant. Opposite the golf buggies their is a play area that as I recall was fenced off but attached to the restaurant as its also a bar. On arrival to the resteraunt the manager was extremely warm and welcoming and escorted us to a table just outside of the restaurant. During the time we where in the Celtic Arms I observed the waitress in the restaurant constantly clean and spraying the tables which was absolutely so reassuring since the last covid people have relaxed a bit to much. A young lady who was equally as welcoming came and as us for our order, it was a set three course meal at £23.99 which we felt was really reasonable for such a lovely place. Halfway through our time in the Celtic Arms the young lady went home from her shift that had intially taken our order and I pressume we then passed to another waitress. I felt we where out of the eye of the bar but not in the restaurant so got a little forgotten about, although once we called a member of staff to remove our plates these where remove immediately. The starters where delicious with plenty of prawns on the prawn cocktail and the pate had an amazing homemade chutney. The mains where lamb and beef with the whole meal being cooked to perfection and hot with vegetables cooked just right. A lovely touch we felt was the lady out of the restaurant came and asked us if everything was to our liking and was there anything of the meal we would like a little extra off, I dare say you won't get a ton of potatoes or veg but the gesture was very touching and to be honest the meal size was ample. The desert white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake we shared and both agreed it was delicious, and we then shared a cheeseboard which I had got on the three course set menu. The delicious chutney again appeared with varies cheeses, crackers and grapes. Our compliments where left with the manager and the staff with our thanks for serving and delivering multiple resteraunts can not quite achieve. Well done Celtic arms for your polite, professional manner and serving a delicious good quality meal which was ample portioned, reasonably priced in an excellent environment. Would definitely recommend this place it's beautiful and wins hands down on the last 20 plus places we have been over the last few months. We will most definitely be going back again."
