"Where to start We entered the restaurant at 6.30 and asked for a table for 2 people. The restaurant was half empty, but the owner told us they were full tonight and we couldn’t eat here as we didn’t have a reservation. The waiter didn’t seem to agree with him and was surprised by his answer. However take away was possible. We left, went for a drink next door, and actually came back at 7.30 to order for take away. The place was not more crowded. Came back again at 7.45 to pick up our food. The place was again as empty as when we first entered. And I said to my friend: it seems we would have had the time to eat considering no other people entered the restaurant to eat here in the last 1h15 window! Got our order but then heard from the owner that they don’t accept credit card even though the credit card machine was just behind him and plugged in fine!!!! The ATM next door didn’t work and we had to walk 10 minutes to find the next one while our food was getting cold because we haven’t been warned before. All in all we still don’t know why we have been treated like we were. The owner is disrespectful and obviously had no shame lying in front of our face. Twice! Very odd to not welcome customers when your actually job is restaurant manager. There was 0 compassion from the owner. He was very cold and unfriendly to us all the way through. Absolute disgrace."

Our family visited HILAL BALTI House over the weekend for an Indian takeaway. After hearing good things about it from a friend who dines there regularly, we decided to give it a try. We placed our order online, ordering eight main courses along with a variety of starters and sides. I received a 15% discount for ordering online, and was pleasantly surprised to also be given a chilled bottle of white wine. The manager personally brought our food out to the car and ensured it was packed safely. We had a wonderful evening enjoying the delicious food, and there was even enough left over for a meal for two the following night.
