"My partner and I have travelled from Liverpool for a weekend in the Lakes. We stopped here in Cockermouth on our way through having booked a table with yourselves through OpenTable. I even confirmed yesterday when contacted by OpenTable. We arrived this evening, closed…..? My contact details were provided, I’ve not been contacted, and there was no explanation offered. After traipsing round Cockermouth I’ve finally found somewhere to eat, and told that you are now closed by another restaurant manager. To not have the decency to contact a customer to say you are closed is appalling. It would take 30seconds of your time and cost literally nothing. If a customer just chose not to turn up you would be slating them."

I visited this stylish restaurant on a beautiful summer day and sat on the terrace overlooking the River Cocker.

We ate here on the 21st oct 2011 a tad cool to sit on the terrace but there was nothing cool about the restaurant,staff or food.

Only one vegan option for main which is a shame but they did make a tomato pasta on request which was ok. Vegan brownie sublime though and really enjoyed the cocktails!

Second visit to restaurant, 1st visit food and service were excellent, so we rebooked, and took family who were visiting us. Service was not good such a shame as the food was excellent

Good food and service. Disappointed with the lack of ventilation in the restaurant considering the very high covid infection rate in Cumbria. Staff wore face masks which was pleasing to see, where other places were not. Speisekarte ansehen

We had burgers which were really tasty but one was meant to be gluten free. Unfortunately they mixed up the top and bottom of the buns meaning neither was presented properly. Staff did apologise but no discount on bill was offered.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the food at this restaurant. I ordered the cod and requested a salad instead of vegetables on the side. However, when my meal arrived, the fish was barely warm and the salad only included a few lettuce leaves and three pieces of sun-dried tomato. Despite the subpar meal, I was still charged the full price. My friend ordered a burger, which was also lukewarm and lacked flavor. The only positive note was that her chips were still hot.
