Hostellerie Du Grand Sully

Food was superb. Setting very formal. Make sure to book ahead because it is popular for local special events.

We ate here with my wife and parents in law. Food and wine were booth very good, service unobtrusive yet attentive. Well worth eating here if you are in the town

Excellent. I appealed to them for my wedding, the owners listen and offer a menu at a great price. A pleasure, my whole family enjoyed it. Thanks again for making this day even more delicious.

Great gastronomical food. Fair priced tasting menu. Only drawback is the cold atmosphere, perhaps just a little music would be better than the sound of the aquarium pump. Great selection of local cheeses, extensive local wine list.

I moved to the whole france and abroad for 30 years. the hostess of the great sully is the best value for money restaurant I know in france and I say after visiting several hundred establishments. Our first day in Sully sur Loire and recommended as being the best restaurant for dinner in town. Booking made for us by the hotel we were staying at (not this one). Pretentious greeting by the Maitre d' in over ornate surroundings for a town and location such as this. Meal was over priced and we left feeling underwhelmed.

There are not many choices for restaurants in this town especially on a Sunday night. This was a pleasant surprise. The staff was attentive even though they were very busy, and the prices reasonable. We had Filet d' Agneau, Escalope de Turbot, Peche, a couple glasses of wine each and mineral water and a great dessert Valencay au Verre for around $80 Euros.

Both the hostellerie and the town were a pleasant surprise. The welcome was excellent and the hotel room in the newish outside building, everything we could have wanted. Add to that an unforgettable meal at 28euros which was very good value. All kinds of amazing tastes to back up very tasty mains. The only reason I've not given 'excellent' is that the dining room lacked atmosphere even though there were plenty eating. Perhaps the waitresses were a little too formal and silent.
