Hotel Restaurant Anker

We had a lovely four course meal at Anker. The food was wonderful, what more can I say? The house red wine was perfect for my taste. I would go back again and again. We also stayed overnight here and the rooms were comfortable, clean and large enough. Breakfast was also high quality.

If you care for an authentic Appenzell ambience and delicious food, this is the place to go to. We had the most tender liver with Rosti, a superb salad, and a dream of a Ddessert. The service nicer than at any other place in Switzerland, helpful and efficient. The food simply delicious. We come again.

It is hard to get simplicity perfect and the Anker does just this. The dining room is plain and simple but very, very chic all at the same time. Angela handles the dining room with grace and precision. And the food is delish! The flavors are clean and clear. My fish was cooked to perfection and the accompaniments were too. No soggy vegetables here.

I have been in the Hotel Restaurant Anker a couple of times and i has always been an amazing surpirse for my mouth. Espacially the homemade specialities! i recommend everyone who want to get a delicious meal and a fantastic dinner with their family. In Addition the kindness from the servicepersonal is great. The restaurant visitors gonna enjoy the stay.

Somehow got lost in Teufen and ended up in the Anker. Very nice location with a typical local touch. We very much enjoyed the good wine list. Service was outstanding. So many friednly people who really want to serve you and make a good job. Food was also good. Liked the Siedwurst and Spätzli. Except the gordon blue was not, how it should be. But I'm sure we will be back one day.

The Anker underwent a renovation a while ago but we hadn’t eaten there since. Thus it was a very pleasant surprise to sit in the clean, bright room and be tempted by so many local specialties that we didn’t know where to start. Ultimately we all decided on the fried liver pieces with hash browns, starting off with composed salads. Everything was very tasty.The restaurant has a clever dessert menu; in addition to the normal-sized portions, you can order mini-versions of different kinds of mousses, and individual pieces of chocolate. It was probably just a thermostat malfunctioning, but there was definitely an over-heating problem at Anker on the evening we dined there. Almost every diner was perspiring, despite having removed jackets or sweaters. Not quite dripping. But enough discomfort to reduce an otherwise 5-star rating to only 4-stars.Apart from the heating malfunction, our experience mirrored that of other reviewers. Wahrscheinlich war es nur eine Fehlfunktion des Thermostats, aber an dem Abend, als wir dort zu Abend aßen, gab es bei Anker definitiv ein Überhitzungsproblem.
