"as soon as i walked through the door, the table that was reserved had other people sat at it so we were told to wait 5 minutes for our table, about 10 minutes later we were told to sit somewhere else. about 10 minutes after this we got a menu. The food was terrible, the squid was so tough and tasteless. The lobster, which cost almost £30, was absolutely smothered in cream and had hardly no meat inside, after we had finished our mains. it then took ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES for a waiter to even speak to us, the dessert trolley eventually made it's way to us and was empty, no choice whatsoever. The waiter would take your empty glass off the table but not even offer you another drink, what is this about?A shockingly overpriced under average restaurant. Would not recommend to anyone i know."

Found this place after leaving Cockfosters station , and I've got to say the food and staff were amazing , the lamb was so tender and the starters was to die for , amazing how even the ice cream can taste so good : one happy person , will def be going back , thanks guys

We used this resteraunt many years ago and thought we would give it another try,.Big mistake ,had to send back my veal as it was cold.it took 15 minutes to return and by this time my friends had finished their meal.No real apology if fact the waiters and management didn't really care.Over priced ,obviouly will not berturning

I visited this restaurant a few weeks after it was under new management. They seemed to have added more tables, which made the place feel crowded. I was seated in a cramped area and the restaurant felt uncomfortably warm. The service was not up to par and when we ordered the duck à l'orange, it was tough and disappointing. Overall, I couldn't wait to leave and I have no intention of returning in the future.

My family and I attended Hunters of Cockfosters on Saturday 2nd May 2015 at 6pm to celebrate my husband's retirement. There were 12 of us in the party and a toddler. The restaurant was extremely clean and welcoming. The menu had lots to offer and there was a specials menu as well. Loads of choice! Food was excellent. Plenty of it, fresh and hot and beautifully presented. George and all the waiting staff were professional and attentive. Everybody commented on how lovely the food was. One of the best restaurants we have eaten in.

Hunters is a resturant with Great traditions. A wonderful welcome and service awaits. The food selection is varied and of high quality and the portion sizes generous, to the point that we didn't have room for deserts. Sad face, as I'm told they are special. The bill was picked up by Fred but a peek showed me that it was very good value. Parking on the street nearby is available, but during the day till 6 pm limited to 2 hrs so our near 5 hour eat and catch up lunch meant I had to move the car and top the meter twice. Just goes to show how time flies when you are having fun and how welcoming our host was. I will be back for my pudding!! Well worth a visit.
