"Venus pour fêter un anniversaire, nous avons été accueillis à la perfection dans ce palace parisien. La Bauhinia est une grande salle magnifique sous une grande coupole, très agréable au coucher du soleil. La cuisine est tout simplement délicieuse, le foie gras de canard, superbement présenté, est un régal. Nous avons testé le tigre qui pleure, grand classique de la cuisine thaïlandaise, certes très très pimenté mais excellent (la cuisson était un peu trop bleu à mon goût et la sauce vinaigrée pimentée devrait être servie dans récipient dans lequel on peut faire mariner son boeuf). Servi avec un riz gluant original, léger et nuageux, surement cuit au lait. En dessert, le chef nous a préparé un gâteau surprise d'anniversaire au chocolat, un régal. Seul bémol, la ou les cartes des vins, il en existe 2 ou 3, la petite classique, celle des pauvres et l'annuaire. Nous avons eu la petite et l'annuaire mais malheureusement rien de réellement abordable, le moindre petit rouge est à 50€, addition salée en conséquence, 270€ à 2."

"C'est plus un large et long balcon plutôt qu'une grande terrasse, selon où vous vous asseyez vous ne voyez pas forcément la Tour Eiffel mais finalement l'important n'est pas là même si c'est assez inhabituel et sympa de diner en surplombant les toits de Paris !Les plats sont fins, délicats et délicieux, le service est irréprochable à la fois très professionnel mais sans excès avec une touche de convivialité fort agréable.Notre petite fille fêtait ses 7 ans ce soir là et ayant entendu cela, le personnel lui amené une mini tartelette avec une petite bougie ; cela nous a beaucoup touchés.Bref, prenez l'ascenseur jusqu'au 8ème car cela vaut vraiment le voyage."

Cafe d'Angel

"It has been 2 years since I have eaten here last time. And because my business takes me to Paris every 2 years I try to eat in Le Caffe d'Angel at least twice in a week that I spend in Paris. So what is that I like here ? Well I could say that Deserts are fantastic - Especially Chocolat liegeoise, salted caramel juice and nougatine. Also the main courses and appetisers are very very good, but there is something else that attracts me here. And it is the atmosphere. It is that mix of "I do not care about anything, I will just do what I want and if somebody comes - nice, if they do not, even better" - what I am trying to say is that the floor and the tables have the very same pattern of the stone and it is the one you would see at fishmongers. So not very spectacular, well, to be honest - all BUT spectacular - but in some strange way - it does work. The tiles on the walls are super generic white tiles you might see in a public toilet - but they work there. Light and the lamps make you feel like you in a living room of a quite avant-garde family from the beginning of 60's - but again - you guessed it - it works. It looks very lean, relaxing, very much non pretentious - but still - the food is bespoke, service is fantastic and the atmosphere is really retro and relaxed. And in a strange way I kinda feel a bit at home when I am there, and no restaurant in Paris achieved that until now :) Thanks !!!"

La Villa

"The Villa turned out to be an unexpected surprise. It's co-located with the Mercure hotel in Saint Cloud, and many locals frequent the establishment. It has some of the best traditional French cuisine around. Dinner isn't served until 7:30 pm, but I dined there two evenings during my trip. The maitr'de serves double duty as the only server, so it can be a bit slow when it gets busy. Set aside at least two hours for dinner and enjoy the experience. It also happens to serve the breakfast for hotel guests. It's pretty much the same every day but includes a wide variety of foods to suit many pallets and diet needs. It includes eggs (poached and scrambled), bacon, sausage, pancakes and crepes. There's an assortment of fruits, cheeses, cold cuts and three cold cereals with numerous toppings available. They also have yogurt, five or six different breads and pastries and multiple chilled juices and hot coffee. The dinner menu is limited to whatever the chef has concocted for the day. There's usually a meat and a fish and vegetable offering. The first evening I started with a salad of simple dressed greens and a piece of toasted multigrain bread topped with cream cheese, smoked salmon, roasted tomatoes, thin slices of apple and tangerine. An unusual but surprisingly tasty combination. The main dish was roasted lamb served with perfectly fried pomme frittes. The lamb was a little on the tough side, but tasty and well presented. At the suggestion of the waiter, I paired the meal with a 2017 Minervois called Riussanelle. The coffee and current notes went very well with the dinner, and was so good I enjoyed it with my meal the second evening as well. That included vegetable egg rolls, roasted vegetables and a cut of lean steak that was quite tough by American standards. The dessert was a pastry with custard and a slice fig. Apparently the chef was feeling generous and creative because the waiter walked out at least two other complimentary desserts for every table that evening. Why go out for good food when it's right in front of you. I will definitely return here again."
