"Can’t recommended Price’s highly enough. I find a lot of chippies to be quite average and uninspiring, but this definitely isn’t the case here. Menu is extensive but not just for the sake of it, everything we tried was well thought out and of high quality (battered pigs in blankets are an inspired invention). Most importantly, core items are bang on. Fish and chips are top notch, well seasoned, perfectly cooked, big portions and really good value (we were a large group, half kids half adults and worked out under £8 a head, with plenty of leftovers). Service was perfect, can tell it’s a well run operation and staff were energetic and helpful in the height of Friday evening service. Do yourself a favour and get yourself in there!"

"My wife and I went for a meal to celebrate our 25th (Silver) wedding anniversary. Things started ok, ordered the seafood sharing platter for starters. I had a pasta dish, my wife the lamb shank (at £25). The starter came and it was really very good. Here is the end of the good bits! My pasta dish was fine, nothing special, but perfectly fine. However, my wife 's slow cooked lamb which should after 6hrs (as claimed) be falling off the bone, wasn 't. In fact it couldn 't be prised off of it! Unfortunately the waiter or manager checked on us quite soon after our meals were brought out. I said mine was fine but my wife stayed silent as she wasn 't yet sure. But the time I 'd eaten mine, my wife had given up with well over half of the lamb remaining on the bone. When he came over to clear the plates my wife said that she was unable to eat the lamb as it was so tough and sinewy still. He didn 't seem very happy with us for saying anything negative about the food so she demonstrated to him and he finally agreed it shouldn 't be like that and took the plate away. From then on we were pretty much ignored, no apology, no offer of a different dish or anything. After 20 minutes we were asked if we wanted desserts, at first we said yes until we discovered there was nothing we wanted so asked for the bill. He took £9 off the bill for a £25 dish that my wife couldn 't eat. Then when we said that we didn 't expect to pay for that dish he argued with us and said my wife was wrong, there was nothing wrong with it and that it was our fault! Not wishing to completely ruin our anniversary, we paid and went elsewhere for a lovely dessert! We won 't be back! Awful service, rude, arrogant manager, below average food."

"The room we were moved to seemed like it hadn't been decorated, giving off a shabby and almost derelict vibe. The waitress seemed unsure about a sauce that was featured on many items on the menu, including my girlfriend's burger. The burger arrived as a sloppy mess on a plate, lacking any garnish and with chips being an extra cost. My girlfriend only ate half of it as it was overly saturated with sauce, leaving no distinct flavor. I ordered chicken wings which were served on a saucer and drowned in too much sauce, with no garnish and lacking any flavor. It was clear that no effort or pride was put into the presentation or taste of the dishes. While I understand that most items are deep fried, they should at least be appetizing. The pub only offered Red Stripe lager on tap, with no bottled beer options. Overall, our experience was disappointing in every aspect, and we have no plans to return to this establishment."

"Well worth the visit, from the moment we arrived (well kept exterior with beautiful flowering baskets), and the warm welcome inside. The pub is clean and comfortable. We sat in the pub side, (closer to motorway but not much road noise). Menu is varied, with something for all appetites. We shared the special starter of butterlied sardines (could maybe use some kind of sauce/dip for the sardines we thought). For mains we had Nduja rigatoni, (smaller portion which was plenty, as the sauce was a little rich but very good) chicken Caesar salad, both were delicious (although I personally prefer skinless chicken). We were going to leave it there but.. OMG, if you go, try the sticky date and toffee pudding, it is without doubt, the best we have ever tried.. The affogato is also worth trying, for those who want a lighter desert. All this and extrmely reasonably priced. 10% optional service charge is added to the bill however the service and overall experience was well worth it...."

"Me my wife and 2 boys went in for lunch, food and service was top notch. The lady that served us sorry I didn’t ask your name went out of her way to make the boys feel welcome even coming up with a new drink to help one of our boys. Really great quirky place ! We will definitely be back if we are around the area. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
